That’s not what I said. Don’t make me look silly. You know what my post meant. Your just skirting around the edges.

    We can all do that.

I never really watched him at Bournemouth so don’t know if what you say is correct about how he was played at Bournemouth but obviously Howe rates him better than Miggy in the position he is being played. With Miggy and Fraser it’s not a black or white call like say Shearer to Shola as the main striker.

You put in a bid. They say no. You reassess quickly and put in another. They say yes or no. You negotiate and da daaaaa you have an agreement.

It doesn’t have to take weeks.

Or is it they put a bid in which is a lot lower than the club wants. The club says no. They then have to go back to pif to get approval. Which then takes time because it’s another extra step. Then they come back and say ok or no but go for another player and bla bla bla.

Proper business people or proper DOF do their jobs well and fast and they know how to get results.

How would a DoF do any better if they have to go back to PiF for approval?

I don’t want that to happen but ultimately my own thoughts are the same. They the owners are taking to long or don’t want to relinquish control
And employ the right specialists. It’s almost like they want to do everything themselves.

As for Howe. I reckon Ritchie so far has played in almost every position in the front six since Howe arrived. So he’s shoehorning him in anywhere he can.

Yesterday I counted 6 players playing in positions they are not actually specialised to play in. That is either a lack of management skill or disrespectful to Cambridge.

I genuinely don't know what you meant if you didn't mean have players ready to sign from day one, as they are already doing everything apart from that - though they have already got one in the door, albeit probably the easiest one and not the ones we most desperately need. But we have (apparently) bid for defenders, midfielders and attackers so what should they be doing?

Well that’s kind of my point. The reason why the DoF hasn’t been appointed is because they want to have control over everything and that doesn’t work.

Let the specialists who know what they are doing doing their job. And employ one!

Sorry, but if it was that easy then the many many clubs who are more appealing than us to sign for and who have more money to spend under FFP, would already have signed all of their targets - and they haven't!

Er? Injuries and COVID. I've pointed this out already.

    We have No strikers
    We have NO left backs

This means we play players out of position

I assume Howe thought for example ASM would be best up front and a different player out of position on left hand side. Who knows.

    Yes they did.
What a way for Manchester City's new owners to announce themselves. On deadline day in 2008, the Abu Dhabi United Group completed a takeover of the club and instantly set about making themselves known.

Brazil and Real Madrid forward Robinho had been a target for Chelsea, but City managed to secure a whirlwind £32.5m deal, a British record at the time, and suddenly appeared a threat to the elite.

A debut goal, against Chelsea, was the precursor to a spell that had its moments, but was fraught with inconsistency and attitude problems. City eventually sold Robinho to AC Milan in 2010 after loaning him to his first club Santos, and took a different route to spending their millions on building a Premier League-winning side.

Yes but a DoF won't get the transfers done any quicker. If a club is playing hardball then they have to think about alternatives, the budget, can they go higher, bonuses etc
This is not a car they are buying

We don't actually know if they had a young kid available to play. I am one of the ones who castigated him for not picking a young striker, but have to accept that under this year's rules he may not have been allowed to.

Employing staff. Employing specialists. DOF scouts. Good coaches. And players should have been lined up earlier to be completed early January.

We are nearly half way through the transfer window and we have signed a buddy of Howe. So the hard work was done. He also wanted back in the PL as he was homesick. We also offered him a contract of s lifetime. So they didn’t really have to work hard to sign him.

Oh and we didn’t need s right back. We needed every other position but!

Yes they do that’s their jobs and it’s why they are employed predominantly!

They are professional experts in their field who get paid accordingly.

They are not tyre kickers like AS and MG!

That’s not the point and again you over drama the situation.

We can surely say that currently they are acting slow. They are making mistakes. The manager is too. Things are not happening as fast as we would like.

Currently today we are the laughing stock of world football.

Howe has not improved anything yet.

    The results have slightly improved.

That’s just an assessment of the last 3 months.

Right this second based on things that have happened and not on what things everyone “thinks” will happen. They are giving us future hope. That is all.

The proof will be in the pudding.

They are not in as perilous of a position as we are. With a staffing structure so pathetically under cooked.

They don’t need to act as fast as we do because quite simply our ship is sinking and you don’t just sit and assess the situation you get buckets and hands and you bail that water the **** out.

You rely on your captain to make the right calls and you live and die by them. Not pussy about on the fence when everyone is in heaven looking for excuses as to why everyone died.

So you wanted us to buy a “Robinho” type player quickly in the window. A player who ultimately flopped and wasted money. Rather than a very good solid purchase who won’t flop such as let’s just say Trippier after less than a week into the window.

    Why?

Again that’s not my point. The player in question is not the point I’m making. Your being selective.

I mean they make decisions quick.

Now I’m not saying that’s always the right option but doing something fast and making a mistake is better than doing nothing at all or waiting till it’s to late.

AS and MG have not allowed control and decisions to be made by specialists because they have hardly recruited. It’s been 3 months.

And arguably the most important three months because for us to stay up they have to get this January absolutely right.

And if they don’t we are relegated.
