Wealth is not cash, all this means is that the value of his assets have increased!!!!

How do you think he got so much money?

Minimum input to get maximum output!!!!!

He's investing in young players to be developed and brought into the game, and bringing in players under 24 so we avoid the mercenaries looking for one final pay day (Owen, Viduka et al)

He's made collosal screw ups which have ended up working in his favour (relegation to clear out the dead wood), but looking at how things are going I can't see any cause for complaint providing money is made available in the summer to strengthen the squad.

He's also scored 3goals which would have consolidated a top ten finish :(

Hurrah....Ashley's back in Billionaire status once more....now spend the cash you fat T*at!!! - This summer is it for me. If we don't buy quality players and continue to strengthen then what is the point in owning this great football club. It should be about the passion, the thrill, and not just having a business acumen! Football is not a real business every club operates at a loss! For me, I like he has cut the wage bill, I like we have started to buy sensibly, I like the aim of bringing through young or youth players. In a strange way since he came in I even like the fact that we or I've started to think more about players wages and transfer fee's and thinking, he doesnt deserve that or we shouldnt be spending X amount of money on big name players like Freddy Shepherd did and basically paid them what they wanted.

Its the Fan's relationship that I cannot stand with FA. For me if he just came out and outlined his plan and was honest then I would try and understand. He has this pathetic way of communicating through Derek Lambias who for me is an idiot and always says and does the wrong thing. The bottom line is I know he's gone quiet and is intending on running the club as a profitable business and we are financially sound at this moment, but there are lots of other owners who can also do this but also care about the fans. i suppose until we are a more profitable club then other buyers wont be interested. Aaaah, rant over, i know many have had there say on him and there's mine for now, stuck with him, full of false hope....We'll see what happens this summer.

None of this money is freely available as cash for him to dispense.

As mentioned; the vast majority of it is tied up in assets such as shares and this new increase in his personal worth is based on shares rebounding from the lows of 18/24 months ago.

From a financial perspective the club is being run better with any additional savings seemingly put back as investment elsewhere (i.e. electrical bill savings paid for under soil heating at the training ground.)

We don't seem to pay over the odds for players, we don't entice them with ludicrous wages and we've stopped thinking that vast expenditure should bring us closer to some form of success.

If the club can become self-sufficient to cover the day to day running costs them we are in a better position than many clubs in the EPL and throughout Europe.

So what if say next season the top 4 is

Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City

Based on the fair play would this mean the only team wed have in CL is Arsenal due to them returning a profit

I'm not sure the full details of what will come into place GRB I think they will just be put in place as an attempt to try and stop the rich clubs dominating the transfer market with mega signings, I think their spending will be cut in order to compete in European competition they will have to meet certain criteria and I think players wages may also play a part in this.

Are you thick in the head?? or just completely blinded by your hatred of ashley??

Look at what OT and I have said.

Why would having more money make him want to get rid of llambias anyway?

This. Combined with financial fairplay he's actually pretty limited in terms of what aspects of the club he can invest in from this summer.
