I must say Pardew's comment in a recent interview made me smile.

"Mike's commitment to the club is as strong as it's ever been."

Sly dig buried in there methinks.

Someone pointed out that he can take it back without the need to show it. Because it's privately owed and a personal loan, or something. The numbers I heard was the £19m was taken back last Summer, since then he's had the TV money which has categorically not been reinvested so it's entirely feasible he could have taken back around £40-60m in one hit. That would have taken the owed debt down to £50-70m, which - as the club state - could, if we sell high/buy cheap again, be taken out again meaning we're entirely debt free for the 2016/17 season. Unlikely it will work out like that, as we'll probably have to dip into the coffers in January.

Odd that the Club have made a statement as they normally just ignore this type of regurgitated non-story.

Straightforward as I see it if his interest in Rangers is really genuine.

Rangers get promoted this season and are back in SPL next season
Wait and see how they do, and if by some chance they manage to win the league, Rangers would go into Champions League play-offs or probably at worst the Europa League in 16/17.

Can't see him doing anything as long as the cash continues to roll in until he feels Rangers can become a viable option in Europe.

He's just keeping his options open with both NUFC and Rangers.

Even more positive news is that the club issued a statement on this, banned journalists and in the past have done so yet the papers mentioning Pardew only having 2 games to save his job went with no word from the powers above at NUFC - must stay positive onthis one!!

If ever a group of supporters deserved a decent owner & manager its you guys. Just hope you get what you wish for, and not get lumbered with a couple of sheisters like Gillette and Hick. I could never understand how Chelsea and City got sugar daddies, both of whom have no history, yet yourselves and Everton are ignored.
