I think you're way offside there Piskie, I'd like to think you're right but what we now know of the character it's clear money was the only driver.
He's the type who I think would happily have loaded gas canisters onto Hitlers lorries if it meant getting paid a few deutchmarks more than the next man.....

    Not sure about that Grizzly.
Cashley claims that he was given a promise that was broken, it was over £5k per week,
not a particularly big sum, given that he was earning a good salary at Arsenal.
It was petty, but I think he dug a hole so big for himself that he couldn't get out and had to leave.
Bad error of judgement on his behalf.
But he is an Arsenal acadamy product, and he has spoken about his 'beloved Arsenal shirt' in the past.
I can't really forgive him for how he shafted us, but I still believe that deep down he is an Arsenal fan.

I've never heard him refer to his beloved Arsenal shirt I have to be honest, I've heard him mock Arsenals record when asked if he made the right choice to join Chelsea, I've seen his body language when taunted by Arsenal fans, I really think this is a broken relationship.
He let alot of Arsenal fans down when he nearly 'veered off the road' in his £100k souped up 4 wheel drive because Arsenal were having to reign costs in and we could only afford to pay him £60k a week and not the £65k he may have been told he would be getting - of course this all came months after his cosy hotel meetings with Roman and his mafia......

    I agree - he is a ****.
and the relationship with Arsenal is a broken one,
but you can never erase your roots.

Assou-Ekotto was making a point and using Villa as an example, whereas Frimpong just takes digs at Spurs. I just wanted to get that across, I''m not going to discuss the twatishness of players anymore, we've got some and you've got some.

As for 'Arry, he was not in charge of the finances full stop. His role is to manage the team not the club. If you can name me a manager that knows the ins and outs of their income statement and balance sheet, I'll accept your point.

What player wouldn't go down if they were pulled back by the last defender? Guess that means nearly every footballer in the prem is a ****, if going down too easily is the requirement.

Being a pro footballer means you are required to play football and nothing else, I can't believe that some fans are hypocritical enough to find it ok to say someone's mum is a whore but when they celebrate a goal in front of you it is suddenly beyond the pale. Its fine to hold the stamp on RvP and Fabregas against him but I don't get the double standards that goes on with footballers.

I'd agree with you, I can see why people dislike him on the field. He was voted one of the most influential people on earth a couple of years back, one of the nicest blokes off the field.

Here's the link - it was £3m he donated, I got mixed up with another article where I think he added to raising 12m.

and while we are on the subject - if Nasri had said 'my time is running out -I want to win the PL title - so I am leaving Arsenal'

that would be understood. Then we start to hear rumours he was being offered a big rise from ManU (£120k) - but Citeh went to (£145k?) .
So of course the money clinched it. I hope it all goes pear-shaped.

Yes in the grand scheme of things it was wrong and he shouldn't have done it but we live in the real world where it is not black and white. He was provoked and retaliated in a way that did not hurt anyone so as far as I am concerned it was no big deal.

Anyone else see Cashley goading the Arsenal fans when Lampard scored the first today, true he'd been copping a bit off the Arsenal fans but I think he expects that every time he plays against us, just reconfirmed what a cock he is in my book....
