    He implied that as he didn't have anyone to impress he had no reason to shave his beard. Guess he was implying he was bird-less! Not sure whether he was replying in gest or in a depressed no-one loves me way. On reflection maybe he was referring to Jose!!

    As a Gooner, it pains me to say Ashley Cole is still the best left back in the country both offensively and defensively. I really don't know why mourniho sidelined him for almost half the season. Thought the fact he has not been involved too much should have worked in his favour as he should be a lot fresher! Really wonder with national team selection, it is not like there is an array of talent, the youth are promoted too quickly and the experienced are discarded a tournament too early.

    Biggest mistake Hodgson has made is thinking he is up to managing a world cup squad. He's yesterdays man and has picked a vulnerable inexperienced team because in all the time he's been in charge he has been unable to get the team firing. Might as well throw caution to the wind, he's a goner anyway. Cole is a walk up, 1st choice shoe in at left back for any team.
