Er no. We spent less than what we made last season and we're doing the same this season. And before you spout about the costs of falling out of the Prem, our attendances actually rose - with more 50,000+ sell outs to pull in all that cash. Ashley raked it in, even if you take into account the massive outgoings into his, I mean the PR style businesses.
Are 'E-sports' just playing computer games yourself? Or is it watching other people playing computer games, in which case what the **** is the attraction in that?
Again Spurs are in profit on transfer at the start of the season. Its all about how you reinvest the money you generate. They have done that very well, we haven't. We've still outspent both Brighton and Huddersfield by a significant amount. Granted we have generated more too, but the manager has still had more money to spend on investing in purchasing players for the club. Our fans problem is they don't want to acknowledge that this isn't some big conspiracy. They want to lay it all at Ashley's door, and spout on about a lack of investment. Sorry it doesn't stack up. We have invested probably 160m in 3 seasons to end up where we are now. If people think that is insufficient, they are nuts. That year we put 70m odd in we were one of the big spenders in Europe nevermind the UK. The truth of it is, and Ashley has to carry the ultimate can for this, we have not used the clubs money very wisely. A combination of scouts and managers have done a poor job investing and managing resources. That is what this tells us. The advertising/PR and all the other insignificant bullshit would be long forgotten if we'd invested in players wisely. If you just look around at the likes of Southampton and what have invested in we'd see the errors we are making. Van Dijk Paid 13m Sold 75m Mane Paid 11.8m Sold 34m Clyne Paid 3m Sold 13m Schneiderlin Paid 1.5m Sold 27m Spurs are the same. Granted the wheels have come off for Southampton but that is just the PL. The smaller clubs like ourselves are just cherry picked by bigger clubs. You are never far from a relegation battle outside the top 6-8. One bad investment season and you will be staring down the barrel. We've managed to get bad managers and/or bad players for our money. We then blame Ashley for not investing. I don't think its accurate. I think he can be criticised for a multitude of other things like getting McClaren, appointing Carr and letting him spend the 70m how he did, allowing Rafa to spend 70m to get out of the Championship, allowing Rafa to have control of scouting and signing who we have.
Stop ignoring circumstances and trying to wind people up by quoting stats out of context. See nice and short.
I have take all circumstances into consideration when formulating an opinion and quoted stats accurately. See nice, short and accurate.
But I exaggerated the sales, and our rivals spend too in order to balance it out. A little bit of dramatic effect can go a long way. Rafa knows this, look how he used the media to stoke up the fans in the transfer window to squeeze some loans out of the an already dry and used up budget.

It's watching other people play computer games. Makes no sense to me either, as a spectacle. Why would you want to watch it? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/39119995
