I feel like we should be able to win this Summer despite Australia being ranked above us (we are in great form) but cannot get away from the insanity of which players are getting game time in the County Championship at the moment. Much was made about whether Smith, Lubsuchagne, Harris, etc should be welcomed to get used to conditions playing here before the series starts but I'm more bothered that none of our own players are. Durham vs Yorkshire last week and Stokes, Wood, Root, etc all absent entirely or off playing in the IPL. Meanwhile just today I get to see Harris (Australian opening batsman) score 122* against us. We are chosing to not be prepared for the series, smacks of arrogance I reckon. Obviously I hope we win but if Australia give us a hiding it'll be pretty clear which team prepared for the series with professionalism.
