Indeed, what are the odds on an innings and 150+ defeat? Will have to have a check.

They are ****ing useless at Brisbane. Every time they do this, it's as if it comes as a surprise ffs.

Who in world test match cricket gets bowled round their legs first ball of the match? How ****e is that, it's beyond belief?

This is the one time that the lads get a free pass from me. It's a farce of a series that should never be going ahead.

It's unfair to criticise them to much, imho.

    Why is it a farce?

Not sure what gives England a free pass here at all? They ****ed it up, it's nothing to do with anything else, they just got bowled out in two sessions.

No pre-series tour? No warm up fixtures? Barely able to get any practice in? Pretty much confined to their hotel rooms? Some of the players not wanting to be there but have gone along because they don't want to jeopardise their careers?

I'd wager with a normal schedule Burns would have whipped that half volley on leg stump off to the boundary. They'll probably be match sharp by about the 4th test.

They reached an agreement before going, everything ironed out. They wouldn't have gone otherwise. They aren't massively restricted, there are crowds in the ground and they can do whatever the Australian public at large is allowed to do.

They could have had more warms ups but the ones they had have were rain affected, which is bad luck and nothing more.

This is the current world we live in, touring sides to England have had to have some restrictions and just got on with it, it's no different the other way round.

I don't even want to make this post as it will no doubt **** us in the arse, so apologies in advancve when it does, but if we can reach close with no further wickets and scores equal or thereabouts, there's a game on.

It's a ten v eight (wicket) game, but a match all the same.

Shame our spinners are ****e for the final innings.

    220/2 about 50 behind

    Could be interesting

Can maybe avoid defeat and grab a draw with 2 days remaining. Cant see England survive the whole day tomorrow. Aussies will still be eyeing the W

Needs huge score from these two, and then have Stokes and Buttler chip in with some decent scores, to stand any chance of not losing.

I would not be surprised in the slightest if Root or Malan is out in the first over tomorrow though. More likely Malan.

Need a lead of 200+ to win, so big day tomorrow.

****ed. That false hope lasted about 40 minutes. And who gave BT The Ashes? Can't stand SKY either. Surely it'd be worth a free-to-view provider to get advert revenue in to broadcast the Ashes? Especially in Australia?

    Fourth over, so not quite.

Didn't see it but it went as expected, as soon as Root and Stokes are gone their arses fall out and they collapse.

At least this was some sort of actual practice for the next test.
