Doubts over the venue for the 5th test now, covid rules apparently. You'd have thought they'd have sorted this out before agreeing the tour, or is it a bit of Aussie gamesmanship to unsettle our lads?

Nah, nothing to do with the aussie team this, WA has had a very different covid approach to the other states all along, been a couple of Sheffield Shield games canned off there too due to protocols. The issue isn't so much the players, it's the extended teams, umpires, 3rd umpires, specialist camera support etc etc. It'll be moved for sure.

Forecast for the first test isn't great, rain scheduled on (I think) 4 of the 5 days at the moment, still a week for it to change tho....would be nice to get out of Brisbane with a draw tbh!

You are on a good thing with that prediction. England have only won an Ashes match twice in Brisbane since WW2. The last time was in 1986-I went to the last Ashes game in that series in Sydney. Was the last time I attended a cricket match which Aus won but England won the series.

Always gonna happen, we don't possess a top order worthy of test cricket and havent for a while sadly.. under cooked, and gonna be heavily reliant on the like of root, Stokes (when he gets up to speed), buttler.

Surprised we batted first and left both Broad and Anderson out. They are clearly saving them for the next test under lights, but a hell of gamble to not play either.
We need a good day tomorrow and all signs are that the ball will do similar. Only takes a counter attack from just one or two of their batsmen though.
