Yeah, that will have hurt. Though he did seem pretty relaxed when he was interviewed after the game.
Desmond would represent a decent series for an England side missing Anderson, a match winning spinner, three Test quality batters in the top 4 and the mindset to play in anything other than one day mode.

Leach bats above Broad now as he doesnt lose his wicket as easy. I prefer Broad at 11 anyway. Just let him throw the bat about rather then trying to play an innings

When he was new to test cricket he often scored alot of runs and was close to being considered as an all rounder. Last 5 years his batting has got worse and worse
He got found out with the well directed short ball and batted with fear.
When he was fearless and played his shots, he was a decent number 8.

Be different in Australia as broad is poor over there. Probably have to wait till next time it's in England to have a chance of winning the ashes again.
