It's just about the correct mentality. The batsmen need to focusing on a century of deliveries faced. If the top 6 all faced 97 deliveries then that would be a draw in the bag. Obviously some will do worse than that so others need to do better but overall the target is 582 balls to get through, so far we've had 91. Ignore the runs entirely, they are pretty much irrelevant.

ps. The replay of that no ball from Cummins showed that Roy was outside his ground at the bowlers end. Really not what I want to see at this stage.

Root out there, no doubt about it.

No shot and hitting wicket. It was clear. The guy has looked terrible so far this morning, if he's going to play like this it's only a matter of time before he's out.

True but Australia have been just as guilty. All that whinging about the ball on day two turned the game on it's head. Gamesmanship from both teams which has been within the law but not quite fitting with the spirit of the game chat prior to the series.

Root doing well despite criticism

Honestly disagree. His body language throughout this innings has been horrific, there's no way you could relax n the changing rooms watching him and he's captain. He should have been out from Lyon and he's simply very lucky to still be in there, I hope he bats all day ofc but he hasn't been doing well.

P.S. Tim Paine - worst Australian player I've ever seen in my life?
