I don't understand people jumping on the bandwagon that we should get rid of Ash. He's not going to throw his toys out the pram if we hold him to his contract, he respects Swansea City too much. The guy has won us points by himself over the years as he throws himself into huge amounts of last ditch blocks and makes as many clearances as the top defenders in the game. He's developed himself into a player as strong as anyone. Despite not being tall, he wins a massive percentage of his aerial duels against the top strikers in the game through sheer brute strength.

No, we don't need £4m. We need a top quality player in our squad to help us secure another £70m war chest at the end of next season. Keep.

I am with you on this. Keep him for his last year.

His move to QPR is obviously nothing to do with a footballing desicion. Everyone knows how much they are prepared to pay on wages. Would anyone begrudge him one last big payday.

Cetainly not great servant and great captain deserves everything and anything he wants. If that means moving on for more cash then so be it. Obviously want him to stay but wouldn't want to hold him back if he want sto go whatever the reason. Any player that comes to our club and puts a shift in for however long always gets my full support whether they stay for 1 season or 10.

chelsea and arsenal to fight it out for Bony's signature with arsenal starting the bid at £25m, This should be interesting and should liverpool join the hunt then it may go to £30m or higher.....one thing we have to accept is that bony wont be a swans player at the start of the season. Champions league football will be to much to turn down for bony as that is his ultimate goal in football...

Nobody should begrudge any player who steps up to bigger and better things that's why i cant understand Ash and this QPR nonsense. If he moves there then its for greed and more money and that is unforgivable in my book for a multi millionaire already. If i was monk i would make him see out his contract and strip him of his captaincy and play him as a bit part player next season to bring him back to reality of where he would be heading if he left us...

It would be a sideways move for sure but perhaps after six years he just fancies a new challenge or living in London. I'm not saying we wouldn't offer a better/longer contract but it's a bit simplistic to say it's just greed if this happens.

As much of a joke as he can be, there might even be a lure to playing for Redknapp rather than Monk.

The only realistic reason Williams has for joining a club that he has no connections with and, let's face it, has less chance of surviving next year than us, is money.

He will not be going up the Bush!..................<ok>

I'd be amazed if he went to QPR really. Unless he's had a major falling out with someone at the club and no other club has shown interest - why would he go there ?

Ash is big mates with rio ferdinand isn't he, who is also rumoured to be on his way to QPR, maybe that's a factor?
I guess he could probably double his wages too, which will always help!
Hope he stays though, but I feel the club will be keen to sell and get some cash at this stage of his contract.

Just seems odd. A true sideways step if I ever saw one to a city that he's not really got any connection with, and he'd have to uproot his young family too. He'd be better off moving to Aston Villa to be closer to home.

I don't know, this QPR story just feels like a curve ball. He's a coveted defender and if he formally and publicly handed in a transfer request, he'd have a number of teams from the top half of the table scrambling for his signature.

My whole thought process on Ash is let him do what he wants , he"s earned it. If he wants to play out his contract great , if he wants to try his luck elsewhere DO IT QUICK .. please .

When I was younger, well 5 to be exact, my father uprooted his young family from Port Talbot to London, as coach driving paid better in London than it did here. So I can understand Ash considering it, but it all depends on what QPR are offering, as its not just a wage increase he has to consider, its the price of living that will increase too. And unless the increase covers that and more, there would be no point in moving.
