I expected the link in here if i am been honest! To be fair i am sure its worth one more watch..... On Ash, what i would do to have him back in his prime, you could always find room for him, you forget how influential he was until you think back and his form usually coincided with our upturn in form.
Great article about Ash. I wasn't at Torquay or Yeovil to see any of those famous goals, his goal against Tranmere was the best one I saw from him.
I still liked his header against Palace. Just the determination shown - for me that was the moment when I became sure we were going to be promoted, even if it had to be via the Play-Offs.
Saw him in Revolution on Easter Sunday and got a picture. He said his knee was knackered and he was going into business, I think he said it was designer watches.
I miss Ash, it's hard not too the perfect captain. It mentions in the blog of when Ash played for Preston against us and went straight down the tunnel, I remember when the final whistle went Ash literally ran down the tunnel, without looking up I think he was emotional at that time, don't think he could of faced up to the city fans. I hate the way it all ended I wanted him to end his career with us, where he belongs.
Hard to disagree with it. The best trip i ever went on since the days of Waggy and Chillo IN THE 60s and 70s.. IAN ASHBEE A PROPER AND TRUE FOOTBALL LEGEND NEVERMIND A HULL CITY LEGEND.!!! *****************************************************************
He's Director of Elite sports clients at Blowers Jewellers, he's been doing it a fair while now and he seems very happy with the way it's going.
sod it then, for old times sake..
Looks better each time. Mind you, i bet we would struggle to take that many to Torquay these days, you forget how good those away days where compared to nowadays.
A very well structured article, with I feel the right balance of his strengths and weakness of Ash, enjoyed the read.
Ian Ashbee. Captains the same team through all 4 divisions and also scores for the same team in all 4. No one will ever match the achievements that he has for city, nor will anyone match that captained and scored for record. Truly the greatest number 4 we've ever had and will forever be my favourite ever Hull City player. Legend.
