If Ash is still here after the window shuts, could he still go to PNE, possibly as an emergency loan or something like that.
Does this resolve one way or another with the closing of the window?

Must have been at a different game to me then.A legend without doubt and as I have said before a bronze statue outsde the KC in ten years time would be fitting, however of late he's been ****e.His time has come and as far as I'm concerned we have better options. All the best son and thanks for all you have done.

Firstly if it's down to the personal issues then let him go no problem. If it's not and it's down to his head being turned by a contract offer I'm less amused.

    As I understand it:

6 months before the end of the contract any club can speak to players playing in foreign leagues. Foreign clubs (including Scottish) can also talk to players within their own leagues. (like Celtic have done with the guy from Forest)

3 months before the end of the contract English league clubs (including Swansea and Cardiff) are finally allowed to talk to players within the English league setup.

Either way (1 month or 3) though nobody should be offering him a contract without the club agreeing first. As I said on another thread he may have a clause saying he can speak to other clubs if they make an offer (not that we would then have to accept any bid) in which case again it's fair enough.

If he doesn't then I don't like the way this seems to have come about or the timing of it. If it is as dodgy as it seems I'd even be inclinded to act as though we were going along with it until the end of the window and then make him see out the contract here just to harm Preston (assuming it's them).

    Agree with most sentiments..

But mostly agree with Midlands.. you need a hard bastard in the middle to make the opposition think twice.. Harper does a good job despite a lot of you whinging about him (I've mostly ignored it cos i've watched him carefully) & Evans is a quality player but they aren't midfield generals..

If I had £15m+ to spend I'd buy Lee Cattermole..

What about Alan Smith then? I've always been a Smithy fan don't care if he played for leeds I'd love to see him in a City shirt.. still only 30 and would frighten the life out of npc rivals.. the only one I can think of to replace Ash..
