Good first half, we've probed and pressed forward without over committing and allowing them any cheap chances. We are closing the ball down well and feisty in our challenges. Giroud is putting in a serious shift! Thought it was a foul and a penalty with the Sanchez yellow card and oh what that chance would of meant to this tie. Ref is being a right ****. We need to keep searching and if we can get the second before 80 minutes who knows what might happen! I expect to see us throw caution to the wind by about 70 minutes.
No need for subs until maybe the final 25 mins. We are doing well, Welbeck is causing them problems, with his chaotic style of play. Problem with someone like Walcott is that he does not get involved in the build up play so we won't have as much of the ball.
Welbeck should have buried it. Sanchez keeps giving the ball away, he needs to stop trying to cut inside as they are very organised and immediately double up on him, he needs to stay wide and run at the full back.
Agree with sanj dont need subs till 20 odd mins. Sanchez needs to pull his finger out he has been poor. Welbeck needs to do much better with his final touches.
Ozil and Cazorla need to stay on the pitch, they look the most likely to unlock this defense. I'd keep the team as it is until 70 ish minutes and legs get tired.
I think Sanchez has been really lively. The whole team are playing well. We could quite easily have got a second at the end of that half. No need to change anything at the moment. Just keep doing what we did in the 1st half.
Still not really the best attitude, Wenger himself said it's not something to do when Santos did the same thing VS United.
