We're Arsenal, we're supposed to be great and elite right? We get more than 1 crack at top sides and always come short in Europe, so no, not understandable actually, just poor.
Not sure why Arsenal87 is crying on here, he wrote a thread today about how we should 'enjoy this moment', or was your account hacked by Toldeo?
I said we are still coming short, but at the same time still good to have many creative players to be able to watch. I don't enjoy coming short and I am sick of it, but still doesn't change the fact we have great attacking midfield options, though some did come short tonight.
I don't see what's wrong with being able to appreciate having some very good players, but also very pissed off and coming short? And lest you all forget, who do I put the ultimate blame on? WENGER, for me the buck stops with him, with these players we have we should be doing far far better. So I'm not being inconsistent, so don't ignore the the point Wengerites.
I ****ing called it. Another year of glorious failure. The more I think about it, the more pissed off I get - conceding three goals at home to the worst team in the Champions League is not on and I just can't believe we were so unprofessional. We can still salvage something from the season, but it is disappointing to go out to, and let's be honest here, a very poor side.
An excellent performance by the Arsenal team and another win on a very convincing run of form. It is a shame it is not to be a quarter final for the team but watching them tonight they are on such good form.
Had we not ****ed up the first leg we'd be in the QFs. Sadly fate was not kind to us. In the end 2-0 was the predictable result. So annoying and frustrating the end result to mar such a good performance by us today. Sad but we still have massive momentum, let's take the anger out on Newcastle. There's still an FA Cup and 2nd place to be fought for.
I can always tell when your upset when you wheel out the elite club line You can't be angry with us being narrowly beaten by the current best club teams in the world at the times we played them. It feels dissapointing at the time but looking at how dominant barca were and how easily bayern dominated other top teams in the CL on the way to winning it you can't have any expectation that we should be beating those teams. It's understandable to lose to the top teams, not everyone can win the game, one side has to lose. As I said it's the Milan and Monaco results that irritate me.
You had mentioned shots on target and said we hadn't turned up so thought I'd post the stats for you.
I always drop the elite line because you and others claim we are elite, I don't, so if we are elite, it's no excuse to always lose against the top sides of Europe, simple as that. Either accept that, or change your silly definition of elite, heck maybe we should start calling Spurs elite too?
Again, we have GREAT PLAYERS, a massive pleasure to have them. BUT, we have a manager who is not that good enough anymore to take us to the top and consistently winning major trophies, and we need a change, so we can make the most of these great players. Get it? It's not ****ing rocket science.
If Wenger can get your players to perform well tonight and win 2-0 away to a team which had not conceded a CL goal at home this season before tonight, what was he not doing before the first leg? And why?
There you go with another one of your soundbites.I wonder how many more you'll be able to post on this thread. It'll soon be time for you to start posting the Fan TV videos
I give Wenger plenty of criticism and although he bears some responsibility for that awful showing in the first leg, the players are more culpable. They knew they were better than Monaco and just felt like they had to turn up to get the result. In the end, Monaco schooled us and the players got taught a lesson in what happens when you underestimate your opponents. Wenger said plenty of times he didn't think it was going to be easy and he acknowledged Monaco's strengths. For once, the players were more at fault than the manager.
Have to say again that Cazorla was sublime. His close control and ability to keep the ball under pressure is unreal. Have to keep him for a few more years, so Athletico can **** off.
Actually I haven't, as typical per usual, you and other spin jobbers get off the point and make dumb responses like this, because you can't actually respond. if we are elite as you claim, we should have been beating the other top teams of Europe eventually, instead of always getting shown up by them and losing. All you have is excuses, one after the other, every year it's another excuse, wonder what excuses you will roll out next year.
