I quite agree. Good teams don't always win cups. That is the joyy of the cups though. To both our clubs, they represent the only genuine chnace of silverware.

 

When does reaching a cup semi final constitute winning something?

If that's the case then in my life time Newcastle have won 3 Fa Cups & 1 Uefa Cup.

Surely if you lose the semi you were merely making up the numbers in the cup though?

Could well be the case. Probably the likliest of outcomes this season.

 

Sadly this is true of 80-90% of the teams in the Premier League these days, unless the next Sheik or Abramovich turns up at your club.

Not because I hate Sunderland, but I just can't see them or West Ham getting to the final. If the Semi was over one leg then anything can happen. I just think over two legs both Manchester teams will be too good (I f*cking hope so anyway )

 

Fair play then fella, I will freely admit I will be insanely jealous if you won the thing. Personally I'd take survival,p over it all day long but I can't guarantee I'd feel the same if the shoe was on the other foot.
I see it as unlikely you will, but it's far from impossible. I said in a post a bit back I reckoned Sunderland would pick up some results against some big teams. If you're away first I'd see it possible to beat manure (clean sheet going into home game). Then a final against a team like city that seem to be developing some sort of complex around playing you, who knows!
You won't have akot to shout about this season so why not enjoy the cup run, it's all we had hope for last season

 

Its ok I'm now acutely aware of mackem sensitivities and have decided to curb my enthusiasm in order to show a more holistic approach in my very important, and serious, role as a moderator. I suggest you take a long look in the mirror like I have and ditch all this wumming. Moderation is your job, you are not allowed to WUM, have a laugh etc because it will impinge on your ability to moderate such matters when they arise.
