If you haven't take a look, apparently QPR will be 7th after today: http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Mark_Lawrensons_Predictions_2012-13.html
Well he has us on the same amount of points, just with a much worse goal difference! As well as weirdly overestimating QPR, he doesn't seem to like Norwich or Swansea much. I would be interested to see where Paul Merson would have us in the table.
Where have the Lads been training the last couple of days..? Looks like a Rugby League Ground, but not Wigan.
Leigh Sports Village Stadium where Leigh Centurions Rugby League Club play. Also home to Blackburn Rovers Premier League Reserves.
They've played 3-4-3/3-4-2-1 almost every game this season. They revert to 5-4-1 without the ball. Definitely not 3-5-2. Aston Villa have been playing 3-5-2/3-5-1-1 at times, not Wigan.
I think we'll see something like this if Boyce is out. ------------------Al Habsi -------Scharner---Caldwell---Figueroa Stam---------------------------------Beausejour -------Espinoza--McArthur--McCarthy -----------Maloney---Di Santo
Nothing wrong with a few nerves Fran. Fact is though if both sides play as they have in the last few games we will win!
Welcome to Wigan lads! I think Steinberg above has probably got the team spot on. And Lamballana, if we play like we did in the second half against Stoke, you won't!
Hmm, on a negative point I didn't realise that we have only won against 4 different teams this season so far. We are turning into draw specialists!
Has anybody been checked Jason Puncheon's wikipedia over the last couple of weeks. There has been a lot of graffiti. Although someone today has managed to edit his career stats. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Puncheon
As Alex Crook correctly (in my opinion) says on twitter, if we play as well as we did in the first half vs Everton and the second half vs Utd (the only two games which MP has been in charge for, of course), then we will win today. However, it is important to note the word 'and', rather than the word 'or'. I can't see another 45 minute performance being enough here. And it's nothing new for us this season. Too many times we've only turned up for 45 minutes.
We don't match up terribly well with Wigan; their packed midfield will make it difficult to press successfully, and we don't generally play the sort of quick counter-attacking style that can exploit the space vacated when their wingbacks are up the pitch. Still, I'm hopeful; going to say 2-2, Gaston to score a screamer, and Rickie to score from the spot.
