Musty. No I wasn't at the game. We took 2,000 to the game and our home crowd is over 10 times that so I'm in the majority. Not sure of your point <sorry>.

If you had a straw poll of Swans fans most would disagree with your assessment that Vorm was our MOM, but hey, you're entitled to your opinion. He made some routine stops that would have been howlers if he'd have let them in. Siggy's two goals were class and were the difference today. Didn't have to be at the game to see that. Btw my mate was at the DW and agrees for what it's worth, so there you go.

Phil: " there was no intent to be seen" Doesn't have to be. Check the rules.

That said, the card looked harsh to me but not so outrageously wrong it'll be overturned. Can't see it.

Due to the "directive" I can't see it being appealed. I cannot recall one high tackle being overturned ever.

**** decision though, how can someone be expected to win a 50/50 ball in the air if this carries on.

I suggest, that is the only possible defence:
The studs were down. Both players went in with their feet up. One was 0.05 seconds slower. Is it reasonable for a player to predict that he would lose that tackle. No. In a perfect world, he would not have clipped him, but in the actual reality of the football game that we love? Of course not. Did he show any intent? No.

However unlike normal law, where reasonable has a definition, the FA have their heads up their arse and the appeals process is a sham.

Is it possible that Mariner wanted to make amends?

Vorm was not motm, few routine saves at best. My motm was Siggy. Two class goals and played some great balls in. If not him, Allen.

Red card won't be overturned although it was a ridiculous decision.

First time poster but follwed Swans for 7 seasons. Dont really understand the surprise about the subs yesterday. Both were obvious and easy decisions. 5 mins before the sending off i'd made the point that Moses was much getting far too much joy down our left and i'd consider sacrificing Scott for Tate and playing Taylor in front of him down the left to sure up that flank. When Dyer went, it was fairly automatic to do that but on the other side. The advanced midfielder always had to be the one to come off after the red.

Im no big fan of Luke Moore but fresh legs to try and hold it up was again a fairly automatic sub and i thought he did superbly, bought a few clever freekicks, tucked in when we lost it and played his part for the team. Not a glamorous job but he did it well.

Wigan were awful in possession until the red allowed them to pass it around easily. They could barely put 3 passes together and in the final half an hour, some of the final balls into the box were awful and relieved the pressure. They are in big trouble. As for us, no need to get carried away but that was an important win and we can just stay focused, get to 40 points and enjoy the run in.

Welcome, PB. Always nice to see a sensible poster :)

Saw on Goals on Sunday that Chris Kamara and the rest of the panel (John Carew, Herman Hreidarsson) were highly critical of the red card. Like I said, maybe worth an appeal but I can see an argument that Dyer was reckless.

Agreed, I thought the subs were spot on. No-one in that stadium wanted to win more than Alan Tate, and when combined with the need to shore up the backline it made perfect sense. Heeell of a result. Massive win and the Swans are as good as safe now unless we manage to lose all of the rest of our games. Roll on 2 or 3 more wins and mathematical safety!

Welcome to the board Pinball, look forward to your input, regarding the subs, as I've said before it was an obvious batten down the hatch job, which we need to do more of, it secured our two goal lead, and in fairness, we can defend well with four at the back, but throwing in a fifth defender was surely closing out Wigan, after all they don't have the best attack. Regarding MOTM, it must surely go to Siggy, who's wonder goals secured the win, though Joe Allen, and Vorm put in great performance's so did the whole team!...............

the second goal, whilst a gr8 strike, look where their keeper was standing behind the wall. ok siggy mom, no clue why he was dragged, thought sinclair after his gr8 run surely should have scored (the neighbourhood at 0130 would have heard me yell how the f*** did he miss that plus a couple of GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL). no matter what i think, a win is a win, and tbh 5 teams 11 pts below with 11 games to go, would have to be a catastrophoe to go down, cant see any of the bottom 5 winning more than 3

So relieved we won this and well done to the lads for a professional performance. My nerves were shattered during those last 30 minutes and I couldn't understand how we allowed Wigan to come at us so much. We made no attempt to play (as we did at Forest last season) and I was sure that we were going to blow it.

That we didn't is a huge credit to the lads who battled their hearts out ( nice to say it). However, Wigan were pants and had we been playing a better team, I suspect that those tactics would have back-fired big time. Still three points for the cause and seven to go. Onwards and upwards, Swans. I actually think that we might sneak a draw next Sunday and what a boost that would be!!

Tactics are always horses for courses. If we'd been playing a better side, we probably wouldn't have used those tactics. The fact that Wigan rarely caused any real trouble in those last 30 minutes should be enough proof that we chose tactics that worked under the circumstances. The real fact is that the better teams in the Premier League, 9 times out of 10, will be able to create a goal when they have an extra man no matter what tactics the other team puts out.

Anyway, the game's done now. We won fairly easily, and now we can look forward to the next huge game! Not pinning any hopes on picking anything up against Man City, but we've grown into this league a lot and probably command more respect from them now than we did at the start of the season. Going to predict 2-1 to MCFC, but wouldn't be surprised if we snatched a well earned draw!

Thought our 10th clean sheet would never come . After getting 9 in 3 months , it took 2 months to get the 10th . P.S. If I had a bit of money , I'd put it on us to take all 3 points from Man City , depending on the odds of course . They'll be worried about coming to Liberty & we'll be relaxed after the Wigan points , good combo IMO !

Well their pampered players won't enjoy this trip that's for sure and I really think we can get something. The players will be on a high following Saturday and after a few troubling results so I really think we can do it. A draw will do nicely thank you very much but we'll be in dreamland if it's anything more.

That said, City look awesome this season, fair play.

I am definitely not as optimistic about the Man City game as some of you appear to be. With Man U breathing down their necks I think they'll came at us all guns blazing just to keep there position at the top. I hope I'm wrong but I really can't see us getting anything from next weekends game.
