Sounds weird, but I am not a Young fan at all, would rather have N'zog and he he would probably cost a lot less too. Marin on the right would be good, but there are a lot of names that could come, maybe 1 will be of a high profile and the rest to fit what the team needs.
I think N'zogbia and Young are as good as each other, although N'zogbia would be much cheaper. Mata is still better than both though.
I agree; although you know what you're getting with N'Zogbia. You can never be quite sure with foreign players, but I'm sure Mata would excel in the Premier league.
Mata is pretty similar to Silva and he is doing fine, plus your spanish speaking contingent should help him adapt. he would suit you really well too because he can be both a playmaker and a winger.
I agree; the problem lies in whether he's willing to leave. We don't want to take on someone who will do a Torres in a few years.
id be ecstatic if we could get mata starting 11 and nzogbia for a regular first teamer and impact sub
Balague said Valencia are being forced in to selling their best players so it is likely he will leave. Anyway if he goes to you but does a Torres after a few years it is still good business for you, you get a great player around the prime of their career for a few years and get to sell him on for a profit when they leave.
We would be so happy to take Pacheco off your hands, I'm sure, if Kenny asked very nicely, we'd even give you a few bob for him, what with Paul Lambert being a fellow Glaswegian.
I agree. It's worth spending 30 odd million on a young(er) player because you'll either get plenty (5+) of years out of him, or if you're forced to sell/he wants to leave, you'll likely get a profit. Spend 30 million on someone approaching 30 and the years of service you'll get out of them/your sell on chances are very limited. If he comes in at 25 million and leaves in 3 years for 35 million, then so be it. We'd move on and spend the money on a replacement.
Suarez. Good idea. Mata could and thats could if we signed him do a ''Xabi Alonso'',we could keep him for 3-4 years, then he would decide he wants to finish his career back home, and then we sell him to Real Madrid for a decent profit of at least ã20 million.
Funny everyone on the regular 606 used to hate the idea of N'Zogbia but i have always rated him, glad you guys agree. He can play Left Back, Left Wing or Right Wing (remember watching him play there in a 0-0 against Bolton last season and he was the only player who was a threat in what was a dire game) and he is a consistent threat to the opposition. I find it strange that the likes of Villa or Sunderland haven't bought him, so maybe there is something in the attitude claims. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this: "Newcastle stars Charles N'Zogbia and Andy Carroll in training ground brawl" http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...ll-in-training-ground-brawl-article31537.html Could they put their differences aside? To be fair Carroll broke Steven Taylor's jaw in a fight with him and they seemed to be ok afterwards. Basically we have just signed the hardest Geordie going and it's a shame those little weasels Mascherano and Torres didn't stick around because he'd have given them what for!
surely people cant complain about attitude problems, i havent seen a single report of him being a nob while he's been at wigan and for **** sake we signed carroll, he's a nutter!
Liverpool need quality in depth (your own management have said as much), for me you need a LB, CB, CM, 2 wingers and a forward at least. I would go for: Enrique - ã7m P. Jones/ Samba (Blackburn) - ã5m Nolan - ã5m Nzogbia - ã5m Kranijer (Spurs) - ã5m Long - ã7m (long term replacement for Kyut, ready replacement for Ngog) Total - ã34m ish (give or take) Apart from Samba and Nolan (both provide experience in depth) you would have a young hungry players to back up you first team, plus money left for a marquee signing with the money you recieve from the likes of Aquilani, Konchesky, Ngog and Cole. I think you need to be realistic in what you can afford both in transfer fees and wages, and what you can attract without Champions league football
Phil Jones would be more like 15m. Young English prospect, and Blackburn will feel they don;t have to sell. N'Zogbia is likely to be closer to 10 too, depending on where Wigan will be playing their football next season.
Realistically we can attract anybody in the world. Anybody who says differently is either stupid or naive. If Man United dropped out of the top 4 next season, do you reckon players would suddenly start turning them down? No, they'd join just the same. We are after young talent, the younger ones are looking for a long term career, it is only those getting on a bit that really base their decisions on champions' league football. It's all about the position of the club in the world. Those players you've mentioned are quite simply dross with the exception of P.Jones and N'Zogbia. The type of players that Rafa would be slated for buying, and at best reserves for us - if that considering the reserves we have at our disposal. Why should we be going for players in teams 10 places below us simply because you people think we wouldn't be able to attract the top players.
Sorry to butt in on a LFC thread, but isn't the main reason he's undervalued his attitude? Maybe it's just hearsay, but I've heard he has a stinking attitude which can sometimes be dangerous, however good the player is. I would love LFC to break the Chelscum/Manure monopoly, but with Carroll and N'Zogbia you might sacrifice harmony for quality - always dangerous! Just the thoughts of a (relatively) neutral QPR fan.
I'm still not sure about N'Zogbia. At the moment, he is the big player in the Wigan team. He knows he will get picked for Wigan because he is the player at Wigan who can change the game in an instant. Wigan don't have many players who have that magic to change a game. If he moved to Liverpool in the summer transfer window and got off to a poor start and was dropped for a couple of games, would he kick up a fuss? Could that create problems in the dressing room? Those are my thoughts. I'm happy to be proved wrong about him.
I'm presuming that he'd just be told not to turn up to training if his attitude got the better of him. I remember when Bellamy threatened Riise with a golf club, needless to say he was sold in the summer, but I don't remember it affecting us on pitch.
Well Nzogbia has always seemed more of a threat than Valencia in my eyes and he's awesome now for Utd. In a sense every good player at a smaller club could be judged in the same way. It's difficult and I'm quite glad.Kenny and Commoli will be calling that one!
