One of the players at the bus-stop was Stan Dingroom, I hear.

"...how on earth did Saints appear not to know?? Why are they even considering such players?
Surely Saints own recent history of long lay off injury's should have made them more cautious."

Beddy, maybe it's because since the days of John Beresford etc, there are only us fans still at the club from those days? The turnover of staff at football clubs is quite astounding. <ok>

Saints....... how true is that?.........I cannot believe they would not have at least done some home work though. After a long lay off and a break down after one match surely alarm bells should have rung. Even considering him kinda makes things seem a bit desperate. Kinda shutting the barn door after the horse had bolted kind of thing.........Was it just a mistake in not signing gorkss? Or was there other matters that we are not aware of, or have taken into consideration?

If Gorkss was second choice, then Adkins wasn't that struck. We're not so badly off for players that we need to make do.

We're in the comfortable position where there is no rush to get players in because the team is already so strong. Any signings will be very well thought out. I'm hoping for a big signing on deadline day to get us all excited.

I think there are back-up plans and make-dos. If you can't get one of your first few choices, it's not worth signing for the sake of it (with possible exception of GKs). Adkins praised our development squad who played Brentford recently, so what about Sam Hoskins (who scored) and Harlee Dean (who played CB).
