Perhaps that is the right approach to take but I am not going to give them complete loyalty. There are genuine issues that I have a right to be annoyed about and we shouldn't stay quiet about them.
I think we complain until the whistle blows to kick of the game up in Newcastle. Even though the transfer window will still be open, it's senseless to belittle players we are likely to be stuck with. I understand you completely though. I feel much the same way. But I guess you have to realise you love Arsenal enough to carry on anyway.
That's just it. We all do which is why we are share the joys and the pain and wish something could be done about the latter. Still I'm supposed to be on a joyful kick so I'll say that the friendlies have been off-season training sessions and the real battle starts on Saturday week. Some of the other EPL teams have not had wonderful close seasons either so we can handle whatever comes at us and like our meetings at home with Barca, Chelsea and Utd, we can win them all. Let them come. We're ready
No, I hear what you're saying mate. I just think Wenger, as usual will wait until the last couple of days to make some signings. If he does, then we go into the season with a decent squad. But if he doesn't and we struggle, then I think he's going to be in for a rough ride.
Well late would be better than never. Never is just so not to be contemplated and of course, lies outside my week and a bit long enforced positive approach
I don't think we should blame Wenger. It's the board of directors thats causing the problems. They just seem to lack ambition. Also, i'm worried about Kroenke. I watch the NFL, and he owns the St. Louis Rams, and he turned a once great side into a laughing stock, by not investing. I'm worried it'll happen to us as well.
It's almost a given these days that when something goes wrong with a club, the manager inevitably bears the brunt of responsibility. Hello Mr Cowboy, we meet again. I'm glad you're a gooner too and agree that the board should be asked to account as much if not more than the manager. I certainly hope this scary tale of Mr Kroenke will not be repeated with our fine club. It's most unbecoming. Gr8 choice of favourite driver incidentally. Take care now
That's the spirit. If we can somehow win all our opening fixtures, then we will be in an incredible position by the end of September. I think we can win them all, and that'll rely on us fans to push them on.
The problem with this pre-season is the uncertainty. Fabregas, Nasri, new defenders, new midfielders. There is so much speculation & so little action. I wish the Fabregas issue would be resolved with his transfer as he is clearly unhappy. is performance last season, when fit, was not up to his usual standard. Also I wonder how committed Nasri will be if forced to stay and the idea of losing £20+m seems silly just to prove a point when we are always told the club has restricted funds. I am very pessimistic about the new season & at this point can only see us struggling & unlikely to stay in the top 4.
If Arsene were to leave during the time frame under discussion, I hope he takes Mr Gazidis with him. I hope for a better outcome. We take maximum points, Arsene stays, the board invites David Dein back and Mr Gazidis still leaves
not much fun when your not at the top of the tree is it?. This is what normal clubs go through every season.
But we are a big club, and so naturally have higher expectations that normal sized clubs. Don't act like you wouldn't be the same in our position.
If we want Phil Jagielka and Juan Mata and they want to come to play for us then a deal should be possible. If we offer say £10 million and they come back with £17 million then we should raise our offer slightly (maybe a couple of mill). After that we can negotiate. It's called haggling and they've been doing it for thousands of years. Why can't we? It's not like we have no money. Leaving everything to the last minute is not doing us any good. Sell Fab now for £30 million PLUS add-ons (appearances etc.) and invest what we get on those players who we want, and who want to come to Arsenal. Shouldn't be too difficult now should it?
This is only because you are going by media stories, which usually are just complete speculation. The club will surprise us all, probably by signing completely different names to those bandied about in the press. We don't do deals in public, so why would the papers know about them?
But you have to admit it is alarming that we haven't made any defensive signings yet? I took the 'everything will be fine' approach last summer about our goalkeepers but we ended up starting with Almunia yet again! In the end we lucked out with Szczesny but that doesn't hide the fact that as a club we have become very dodgy with our transfers.
Well like all of us I'm hoping that the right deals get done and we start the season next week in a better position we were than a year ago or indeed even a week ago.....
