What upsets so many of us is that Gomarchingin could be so chuffed to be right when it leaves us losing. That's no kind of fan and I can understand why people woulod block him.

I'm not sure what you think you are right about! No-one has said our defence isn't very poor. If Nigel came out and said we'd had huge bids turned down for international defenders would that change anything. NO! It's history move on and worry about getting some points on the board!

That's the main problem, I think. Would rather have his pre-match doomsday despair proved right than see us do well.

I'd rather get teased by gloating West Ham fans than listen to suicidal Saints "fans".

Oh dear , if it carry's on like this the Jan transfer window wont matter we will be cut adrift.....my usual optimism has gone right out of the window with this result. It is all very well saying all those around are losing but picking up the odd point away at places like West Ham is what will keep us at the end of the season. Keep getting battered away all the time isnt going to do the lads any good and the winning mentality of the last three season's will quickly be replaced by a losing one. Still I am sure my usual optimism will be back by the Spurs game:smiley:

I agree with that. There seemed to be a strong opinion going round that our problems at left back were caused by his lack of cover.

Yes, you are still wrong. Saints could lose every game 6-0 and you would still be talking crap. No result is ever going to make your myriad of bizarre and self-contradictory conspiracy theories make sense.

Not sure how I feel TBH .

Head said hammers win , Heart said Saints win .

    But THAT result .............

Hope Nigel gets more games ( many More )but the fact NC said saints won't get relegated while he is in charge worries me from a current managers point of view .

I don't wear tights (well, not on saturdays)
We have a poor defense and we've known that since the window shut.
It's not about you being wrong, it's about the continual slagging off of the club that is so annoying.

I am going to follow Mr Nice's suggestion and leave the board this evening to the moaners.

I'll be back at St Mary's on Sunday, singing my team on, no matter what. If we go down, so be it, I'll still be following and buying my season ticket.

I'm not disappointed, because I always felt we'd lose today, and most likely deservedly so. The only thing today has told me is that Adkins is now one step closer to the exit door.

Even if changing the manager won't affect results, it's a general trait in football that poor results equal a manager's sacking. If we don't win any of our next three or four, I'd just be waiting to hear the news that Cortese has acted.

Im on the fence after this result regarding adkins future.
On one hand its a result business, the defenders we have arent good, but not as bad as 3 goals a game, so must be something wrong there. Also some of the team selections have been barmy.
But then he has given us two promotions and should be given respect for that.
I think that he has a few more games and then he is gone, if he does go i will doff my cap to him and wish him luck, but wont be that upset, i love southampton and want to see them being the best they can and if someone can get us closer to our true potential then he will soon become another saint.

I think the hiring and sackcing of Nigel Adkins could be the best business decision Cortese can ever make, somehting has to change now, purely so were not dead and buried by January
