Good luck to you boys, it suspiciously looks like what happened to us last year. No one expected us to win the league, least of all us QPR supporters. Considering all the sh*t we'd put up with the previous 15 years, a lot like yourselves, who could've blamed us? So again best of luck, you've got that little cushion, let's hope it stays there.
Just out of curiosity, you've given your reasons for why Southampton and West Ham will be around the top come the end of the season, and I agree 100%. Care to give a reason why you think Leicester will be up there?
Stay cautious. All you have to do is look at Leeds 09/10 season, and that was in a less competitive league.
But you can't really compare that with Saints. Different managers, different players, different mentality etc. Having seen Saints this season, it's difficult to see when Saints will have a major blip. To do that a loss of form is needed throughout the squad and I can't see that happening to be honest.
How on earth you can't say it's comparable is baffling to me. No one and I mean no one saw Leeds dropping form as badly as they did, 11 points clear at Christmas, we'd practically won the league already. It can happen to everyone. You have confidence throughout your squad, but a bit of loss of form can extinguish that frighteningly fast.
I think you will find the reason for Saints fan's confidence is not only the results, it is the manner in which they have been achieved. We have been watching our team tearing apart teams for last year, with wonderful flowing, attractive, but effective attacking football. EVERY time the team have suffered a setback, we have gone on to win the next game and it is this consistency that will ultimately get us promoted. If 2 teams finish above us in May, then they will have played unbelievably well and I will salute them.
Why arent West Ham walking their League at the moment? Simple.... NO team walks the Championship. Its what makes it the best and most competitive League in the World
Hi MarkoLUFC, sorry only just saw your question. My answer would be that Leicester have spent a hell of a lot of money and whilst this does not always breed success they have brought in a lot of experience and have some players who can open up teams, such as Wellens and King. These players didn't get much of a look in under Eriksson but will do so under Pearson (who managed to keep a poor Saints team in the Championship) who has experience in this division and will also tighten up the team at the other end. Teams that score lots of goals at this level always do quite well, even if their defence isn't the greatest. How do you see Leeds doing this season, I have to admit I thought that too many people we bigging yourselves Cardiff, Reading, Forest and Birmingham up, all of whom I thought might find this year harder then their last. However, Cardiff seem to be proving me wrong to a great extent!
