Isn't it great waking up on a saturday morning, being excited and can't wait for 3 0'clock. What a change from the recent past.
You don't have to get up at 4 in the morning, though Cornish. The nice thing about mid-table meaninglessness is that I don't have to worry about the results.
Endearingly optimistic - as ever ! It's a bit like your 3-1 to WFC predictions every game. (We've managed it once this season at Brighton, but oh what a great display!) Love the attitude though. Anyway, I think W6 D2 L2 is a reasonable mix of reality and wishfulness. But 86 points - well, that would be as close to 2nd as could be. Referring to another musing (was it from a Hull/Cardiff poster, I can't remember), about the downside of having so many loanees in an end of season dogfight i.e. not over bothered etc, well I actually think it's a plus. The group seem seriously committed to doing as well as they can, but perhaps without the nervousness that they might otherwise have if their futures depended on it.
The other thing I meant to say is that since EVERYBODY from 'olloway to Maniche on BBC is actually talking about us, the ability of the group to cope with the hopes/expectations/tensions - not least from the Vic road faithful - will be properly examined in next 2 weeks. Obviously, the closer we get and the better we do, the more tense it will be (as Hull, Palarse and leicester are not likely to roll over that easily). I think a good couple of weeks now will put more pressure on them, as they have been nearer the top for longer, so disappointment will be more tangible. A win at Barnsley will (I think) be a huge marker. They are doughty, we hardly ever get much there, it's blooming cold, they are close to the bottom, and are playing with much more self-belief under Flitcroft. It's exactly the right test for us for the last 8 games.
No, I enjoy not working at the writing and now my computer is old and works for a few minutes befor crying in pain. The one good thing is I got better at english and Little Ak helped too.
If we draw today Bristol City cannot catch us. If we win and Peterborough United and Wolverhampton Wanderers draw they cannot catch us. If we win and Barnsley lose they also cannot catch us. The worst is if we lose and relegation seat teams win all can equal or pass our points, not counting if they have to play against each other. Good matches for Watford today are: Crystal Palace - Leeds United to help promotion Peterborough United - Ipswich Town to help against relegation. Today is very odd when we could not be relegated. This is a happy change from the last few years when good results in the last month have helped keep Watford out of the next level down.
This is probably the most pessimistic post that I've ever seen on a Watford board, ak. Relegation with 66 points, indeed! Cheer up for for goodness sake.......
