NZ - Ian is on Radio 4 pretty much every week and has guested on 'Desert Island Discs' - I remember one of his selections was John Cage's 4 minutes 33 seconds (a silent track).
GFZ stating the obvious, http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...Three_points_would_be_massive_due_to_run_in_/
If he chose that pretentious nonsense from Cage, then no doubt Mr McMillan has written a 5 minute long poem with no words to be recited in silence.........
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Zaha-set-miss-England-21-duty-sore-tooth.html Will be ridiculous if he gets off England duty with this and Chalobah plays both U-21 games despite having numerous periods off this season with strains of one sort or another. Particularly as we have the game on Good Friday.... At least he will miss the Brighton game - much better chance of them losing that now
Good to see Mr Flitcroft backing us: http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk//news/article/flitcroft-on-watford-test-15032013-716546.aspx Also not giving the old "overseas players are bad for the game" stuff...
Bravo Mr Flitcroft.....he has done very well since taking over and after these comments I hope he continues to do well after Saturday! As an aside, anyone else noticed Millwalls difficult run-in. Our match on 16th April will be their 6th match in April and come only 3 days after no-doubt their biggest match of the season. I suppose if they beat Wigan they will be on fire but more likely they will be feeling low and there for the taking!
I've used "Palace", "Zaha" and "disgrace" in the same sentence plenty of times in recent months, so I'll leave this one to people's imagination. Onto more important matters, this is a huge game for both clubs. Barnsley could slip to 23rd with a defeat (Wolves and Brizzle play each other), and go as high as 17th with a win. We could go second and within striking distance of Cardiff if things go our way, but in the nightmare scenario our automatic promotion charge could be all but over. Even without Abdi, and even if Barnsley have twelve men tomorrow, there is more than enough quality in the team to create chances. We just need to make sure that we take them.
Fair play to Flitcroft for his comments. It is what it is, and most other clubs who don't have a sugar daddy would do the same. Best luck to Barnsley for the rest of the season... after 5pm Saturday! I think everyone knows this will be a tough game. They will try to counter-act our style, and see them sitting deep and trying to hit us on the break. A week since our last game, and a week until our next, so hopefully it will be as full strength starting 11 as GZ can name. Hopefully it will be a comfortable win, but can see it being a very nervy, close game - 2-1 to us! Nice thread Mex
When we first had Bellamy on loan the FA made a full scale enquiry and everyone was up in arms, as far as I know no other loan player has been investigated by the FA to that extent. You have done nothing wrong and any other team would have done the same if they could, I assume you still only use 11 players on the pitch and not 13? We are hardly going to get the worst players we can get are we? Basically you have one of the best sides in the division so a few other teams will not be happy. jck
What a bloody wimp he must be, not playing because of a sore tooth! All that money players get must be making them soft. Back in my dim, dark past, I fronted up for a rugby match against the Junior All Blacks two days after having wisdom teeth removed. As my coach at the time told me when I mentioned this fact to him - "You run with the ball and you kick it, you don't effing bite it." Re Chalobah - had forgotten about him being selected for this. Surely we have grounds for postponing the Good Friday fixture - Chalobah, Doyley, Nosworthy and potentially Ekstrand all on international duty? Even if Chalobah has five days to recover - after all, Hull complained about two hours.
I admire Wilfred Zaha for learning his new club's ways so quickly. Fit for the club but injured for the nations.
Well it would appear that im going. I am also giving a mate a lift, so that should make the journey more interesting. I have heard that there have been over 1000 tickets sold already, so with the pay on the gate, we could be looking at upto 1500, im hoping for an early birthday present for Sunday.
