And it was the goal he had been looking for...he was caught offside a few times trying to make a run...and finally a mistake by a defender and he was in. Yes. his goal was coolly taken. I had confidence that he would score...and that is a rare feeling...usually only had it with Rickie in our promotion years. JRod is the dogs accoutrements.

To be fair though, he is very much the exception but maybe thats because most players just get their way in the end so there aren't that many to consider. Of course it doesn't always follow that a player will continue to play well AFTER a big transfer; Carroll, Torres etc

Can money and success bring you happiness?:emoticon-0143-smirk

Apparently money can make you happy in the short term, but everyone reverts back to their baseline level of happiness after that. Some people can be annoyingly positive like me and some can be....CBK :) However, money may not buy you happiness, but it sure reduces one source of unhappiness.

We seem to drop our game against so many teams that are trying to reel us in that when i see us take an early lead my first thought oddly is 'this wont end well for us then.' We led the league last year in most points dropped from leading positions and i think we're 2nd this year so that is an ongoing issue that the team clearly need to focus on during the season break because otherwise we are always going to bleed points, Goal differences, league positions and dump us out of cups.

Like others have said, although individual errors cost us the lead what was actually disappointing was the rudderless way we played from that point onwards. Pundits often refer to this as the players dropping their heads and it seems when things turn against us our heads drop like breeze-blocks from a 9th floor window. At those times we barely able to muster a venture out of our half with a well wide shot from distance or wonky cross the best we seem capable of.

Dropping points from a winning position is relatively new for us...we rarely did it in our promotion years. This needs some real analysis...do we still take teams by surprise and get early leads...then the other team up the pace and we drop our heads? We are obviously happier going forwards than defending...strange as we had one of the best defences at one point. Does the team think...here we go again...as soon as a goal goes against us? Is this just part of being an attacking side...if so, how do we rectify it. Glad I'm not a manager.

Rooney wasn't stopped from leaving, he has twice threatened to leave and then received massive new contracts. All Rooney had to do was reject either of those contracts and he'd now be playing for PSG or Chelsea.

On top of that, you said that the player in question still had to play well for his club, and I would say Rooney has continued on his downhill trajectory since both those contract issues - at least, his impact has lessened. Otherwise, I would have also said Modric, except when he was made to stay, he was never the same player again for Spurs.
Suarez is clearly the only example.

Seriously? I thought his improved form was one of the few bright spots for Man Utd this season.

I think it's a case of not really believing you should beat a team. You were the better team against us yesterday but lost, I thought, because you thought you should lose to Tottenham, and Spurs thought they should beat Southampton. We suffer from the same thing when playing teams above us. Breakthroughs do happen, as with Liverpool this year, and, really, with you getting from League one to seventh or eighth, but they're more the exception than the rule.

Just wanted to say I really like how you play. It's well-organized, attractive, attacking and notably clean. The fact you don't foul much was what helped Eiriksen have a big game. He's very talented but slight, and most teams make it a practice to foul him off the ball.

Anyway, good luck. I thought we were very lucky to get all the points over two even games.

Schmeichel just tweeted a link to SaintsWeb having read a thread about himself on there. Amusing.
