    Je. Sus. Christ.

2-0 up at half time, begin to get dominated, concede a goal from a corner, make it 3 against the run of play.

    Sound familiar?

Most ridiculous ending to a game ever - that save by Friedel in stoppage time then that goal line block by Modric were both world class. After 60 minutes I gave us no hope of winning that at all.

I've never seen us get so dominated so much and win - ever. I hope Redknapp wasn't watching that because his heart will be in tatters.

Can't even get round to writing any post match analysis yet - I'll get round to it at some point.

Absolutely heroic win. To play so poorly yet win is really, really special.

It's called taking your chances! You should try it.

We had a fairly ineffective first half, conceding possession far too easily and allowing them to have far too much of it.
Somehow we went in 2-0 up.
The second half was even worse, with our more creative players virtually disappearing entirely, Fulham totally dominating and Walton being utterly ****.
    Somehow we won 3-1! <laugh>

It's great sticking another 3 points on the tally (7 wins and a draw in 8 games), but we'll have to start playing better than that.
I just hope that this was a nervy reaction to Redknapp's surgery and a one off.

We were just lulling them into a "false sense of security" then the killer blow to help the goal difference. LOL.

  5. It goes some way to making up for the times last season when we dominated sides and came away only with a draw <ok>

I think there were some weird tactical substitutions there. I was very surprised to see Defoe come for VdV. If anything, it should have been Sandro for VdV and maybe someone like Livermore or Charlie for Lennon to either bulk up the defence or midfield more. That being said, the Defoe switch was vindicated (eventually) which was nice.

Neither Jordan or Allen are managers, and I think its a bit harsh to say that Levy could have done a better job. Fact is, we got 3 points against a very strong and resolute Fulham. We did not play well at all in the second half; some of the passing, distribution and decisions by our own players were shambolic. However, we got the 3 points.

If Harry ever did leave for the England job, Levy will be looking to bring in an experienced manager, not to promote Jordan / Allen to managing the club. I doubt we'd revert back to the "shambles we were under Ramos", the last manager to win us a trophy since George Graham!!!

Anyways, lets just enjoy the victory and applaud yet another entertaining game watching Tottenham Hotspurs.

I hope Harry won't take the England job with his dicky heart and all,coz we were a shambles from start to finnish without him there.I hope he wasn't watching,i'm half expecting a newsflash saying he's had a heart attack.

    I wish we would!

If we were taking our chances, we would probably be above you in the table. But we haven't taken our chanes and you are starting to put a gap between yourselves and Liverpool & Arsenal...

That was probably the luckiest game I have seen in a very long time. How Spurs managed to win is crazy, 20 shots on target from Fulham.

Well done Spurs on taking their chances though, was hoping they would drop points like Liverpool <laugh>

The win was never in doubt for me lol.

Great win, we got outplayed in the 2nd half big time. HR might have to have more heart surgery if he was watching from home. Proper frantic and I still can't believe Fulham didn't score from one of those chances.

This fulham side are the only team to take points off city so far - now I can see why! Superb spirit and fight - I would expect nothing less from a jol side though!

I think that it was more down to both of our central midfielders being off form, Lidls.
Parker getting elbowed in the face probably didn't help, but Modric had a shocker, bar his goal line clearance.

Just one more thing to note, that appears to have gone unnoticed.
We've only played 4 league games at home so far this season, compare to our 6 away fixtures.
Liverpool, Newcastle and Arsenal have all played 6 home games and 5 away.

True enough. I remember looking at the fixtures months ago and seeing that our first real home banker was not till the end of October (QPR)!

Just want to say, though - how much effect would Harry's absence really have had today? I mean - once the players get out there and people like Modric can't keep possession is that really the fault of Jordan and Bond? One thing, prehaps is that after a Harry half-time team-talk we rarely look that crap in the early parts of a second half.

Also true that results like that make up for the draws that we should have won last year, as HIAG said.

Not for the first time this season, we gave possession away far too easily with sloppy passing. Fulham put us under pressure every time we had the ball, which made it even more difficult. However, we've got to do better than that. I hate to say it, but we could learn a few lessons from teams like The Gooners about how to retain possession.

Walker fell on the ball, but then he definitely handled it.
Sidwell flattened Parker in the opposite box prior to that though, so Walton missed a penalty for each side.

  18. After the debacles in Russia, and now this, I would think not!

We were very lucky today. That does not excuse bad tactics.

Trust me SNIAW, it was very blatant.
He just ran straight into him and made no attempt to play the ball.
Got away with elbowing him in the face in the first half too, but it was hard to tell if he meant it.

  20. That was fully expected by all but the 'Pool-biased press and idiot pundits, such as Hansen and Lawro <ok>
