Normally tricasts are only declared on handicaps but the bookies have been known to offer tricasts on races with big fields in the past since it is their computer that calculates the return. Given the odds of the third, I would have expected a tricast to have been over £30k. I think I was as surprised as most other people when Wootton Bassett made the jump from sales race to Group 1 so there is no reason to think that Reply could not do the same; however, O’Brien has got six in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (including Reply) and Power is the one that I seem to recall reading might be heading there.
Although i think the price is short i have gone for Dimension in the next at Doncaster as must be a strong Favourite on his last couple of runs. Just seen all your winners today Rainbow, very well done.
If I was a bookmaker I would love a horse like Dimension today. I wouldn't want to be with it at all. The one I like is Barnet Fair but its not a betting race for me.
