I think the experience from last year will serve us well. We were in a tight race last year and came through it. No reason this year should be different. The squad is essentially the same group from last year. They know pressure and so does NA. We do too. It will be a wild ride just like last year. We have the 3 points over WHU with three to go. I'd rather be here than 3 points down. No keeper has made me a bit nervous for a while. If Kelvin gets a knock we essentially give up those 3 points unless NA has a trick up his sleeve. Maybe we have a sub keeper hiding in the team taking extra shots at the end of practice. I'd rather see Bart on the bench though for security. Still not worried yet. It is in our hands.
Perhaps that is why Harding is always on the bench, he has secretly trained to become a super shot stopper.
I'd be agreement with youhad I not then watched the game back in full afterwards. But having watched it back, I think he got pretty much every decision spot on. Certainly some incidents I obviously saw wrongly at the time.
Yes could have been much worse. Could have red carded a couple of times and let's face it he usually does!
Thats interesting - i have not watched the game since being there on Fri evening and during the first half especially i thought that the ref made some harsh decisions against us. It just shows how you can be so wrong sitting in the stands and not seeing incidents as clearly as the ref & his linesmen. I'm glad to hear that he got them right to be honest !
There were a couple of decisions in midfield which the crowd wanted free kicks for that weren't. After that every decision was booed/sarcastically cheered, and the ref branded crap. Mike Dean is an experienced bloke and I seriously don't think he cares about what the Northam thinks. He had a good (quiet) game on Friday.
The mentality we should be holding, and i think Nigel does hold, is not to hold off West Ham for second. But to go and win the league. Not just to beat Peterbrough and not to lose, but to beat Peterbrough by 3 or 4. If they go out on Tuesday with that mentality theyll do great
Davis Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveald, Fox Chaplow, Hammond, Cork, Lallana Lambert, Sharp Martin, Harding, Ward-Prowse, De Ridder, Guly The bench needs a CM on it and assuming Morgan isn't back, JWP is what we have. Even if we don't bring him on, the team needs the cover. Guly is no CM, neither is Lallana. Peterborough play a similar style to ours so it's important that we push up, make our fullbacks drive forward and make our quality count.
I thank god that NA and the team aren't as defeatist as some of our fans are, they won't let the last game affect the next one, they never do...I fully expect us to be firing on full cylinders and think that we will turn in a performance similar to the one at Palace. I think we may concede a goal, but we will definately score at least 2.
I hope they do remember the Reading game when they play peterbrough. If they play that well again, we will win by 3 or 4
Crap guys i gotta confense to something, this squeaky bum time is kind of all my fault. I was saying a few days how promotion would be much sweeter if it went down to the wire... (i was hoping for a Morgan 30 yard screamer to clinch it) So yea this is kind of my fault, sorry about that
