Just don't check out Liverpool's squad list... there's a couple of players there that could throw you off a bit, as to what team you're supporting!

Newcastle fan Phil Dowd is to referee our match against QPR on Monday.

This is how nufc.com described the games he referee'd last season, the last bit cracked me up.

Ref: Phil Dowd - a first match involving Newcastle since the epic 4-4 draw at SJP against Arsenal in February.

That completed a memorable trio of matches involving us in 2010/11 for Dowd - that saw an aggregate of 21 goals scored: a 4-3 Carling Cup win at Chelsea and the 5-1 home rimming of the Corbridge pie scoffers XI.

Agree with the majority of suggestions/combinations - however, Raylor will play..........!

Always forget about Fergie too when I am thinking about the squad depth we have. If look at the squad (shoot me down for being a ****ing weirdo!!) like a set of scales and it was far to heavily balanced to the right, but when Fergie is icluded it put my mind at ease, especially when I think back to Stoke away last year,we were ****e,Fergie was awesome!!!

I like that line up Leazes.

Another option is to have Obertan instead of Best or Ba and use his pace just off the striker to run onto through balls provided by Jonas, Marveaux and Cabaye

It's pretty much nailed on that Best will start after his goals against Fulham, and rightly so.

i would prefer marveaux to start instead of obertan. i would bring obertan on with half an hour left to use his pace but i reckon marveaux does more when not onthe ball from what i've seen of him. away from home that really matters. plus he's very tidy in possesion and doesn't give the ball away cheaply.

I think the rest of the squad picks itself baring a switch for santon and raylor. although on current form i'd drop simmo and play raylor. just to give simmo a kick up the arse if nothing else.

yeah i think you have to play best on merit but i would expect to see a much improved Ba against QPR. he showed improvement int he las tgame and i expect him to be much better this time out.

This for me. I prefer Obertan to Marveaux, he's done well so far. I don't like having to right footers on the left flank, I think we'd lack width and be congested in the middle of the park, so Ferguson at left back and Santon at right back (obviously won't happen but there we go).

Best gets the nod up front after his brace against Fulham, with Sammy "in the hole", keeping it warm for when Ben Arfa comes back. <ok>
