And you'd like to think it wont be ending too soon. Home to QPR up next. Even putting Harry to one side, that is one game where every single of us has to be looking at three points.
A terrific result against a good side away from home. Well done, Victor. Our +6 GD is something to be proud of. Second in table for now too.
Saints are a CRISIS CLUB in MELTDOWN, destined for RELEGATION, you say? please log in to view this image
Congratulations lads, you certainly are our bogie team. Was shaping up to be an interesting game until the prat Bony got sent off, but second half we were chasing shadows and eventually you wore us done. Look forward to some revenge and beat you for a change. All the best lads.
You were very much the best team, until Bony had a second rush of blood - cost you a point maybe 3, but sure he will score enough to get them back
We lost away to Norwich and drew at home to Sunderland and West Ham in out first, what, four or five games last season. We were in a great position after eight or ten games last season, but I'm not sure we were exactly flying high after five. I wouldn't say we "flew out last year as well".
Plenty of games too where we failed to hang on to a lead, never coming back after conceding like we did atWHU
Second in the table until at least next week Fran......Great result today, prooves we can grind out results without playing well. Chuffed for Big Vic, but where was his "doggie" celebration?.
OptaJoe ‏@OptaJoe "10 - 10 points from five games is Southampton’s best start to a top-flight season since 1988/89 (also 10). Marching."
Hi Pepys. Just got back in. Have to go out again, but first, do I believe my eyes..! please log in to view this image If ManC want to go above us this week they have to score 4 goals, Spurs have to score 5 to do the same. A safe second and guaranteed 3rd.
I've called Bony a lot worse than berk believe me. Oh well lads, so much for being relegation fodder. Sold £97 million worth of talent and second in the league
I'm pretty sure Koeman's tactic was to start fast get a goal and then bring on Wanyama to see the game off. The complete opposite just happened.
Gardos looked like a quality 'ball playing' centre back. Exactly what we want. Great for Victor to score. Pelle had a bad game finishing wise.. but he did set Victor up, so I'll let him off. Our defence looks more solid now without Lovren. Lovren can be too erratic at times, always looking to make that big crowd pleasing challenge. Yoshida has looked much more solid next to Bertrand. Bertrand helps him more than Shaw did. Gardos is a good option now and Alderweireld was brilliant against Newcastle. Tadic has a great eye for a pass, Forster is a solid keeper. Pelle looks quality, even if he was wasteful today. Our squad is looking great. The only real question mark is Shane Long.
would that be under Chris Nicholl playing nice attractive football, but a couple of years later the chairman sacked him for finishing mid table and appointed Branfoot - DOH!
Last time he thought he'd scored against Swansea, he went mental and it got ruled out. Probs just playing it safe
