i know scott its fantastic ! i suppose the only real way to test how good our style of play now is to play barcelona. " i wish ".
Thought Caulker was a bit suspect on both goals . Was in a great position to block the first goal but seemed a bit slow getting his foot in place & if Williams was playing with Monk on the 2nd goal , it would have been offside . Caulker looked like a spectator keeping Walcott onside .
Correct, Breezy. As I've said on another thread he should have got his foot in on RVP and he failed to step up for their second. But he did so many other good things he made up for it. Had we lost the game we might not be felling the same, I'm not sure.
Certainly agree on the first goal breezey, but like to see the second again to pass judgement. Two opportunities I thought he had to get a foot-in before RVP unleashed!!!
I like Caulker a lot but he does get prancing around at times & not paying close attention , I'm sure it will get ironed out
When you see the 2nd one you'll cringe , Williams move up to put Walcott offside & Caulker is jogging straight across the pitch from the far side keeping Walcott onside . Ashley won't be happy to see the replay .. P.S. I'm sure it was Caulker (yikes )
He's still young, but seems to have all the attributes to become a top-class centre-back. Although he didn't do himself favours with Arsenal's goals yesterday, he's been immense for us so far & we're generally far more assured at the back with him....
I was at the match Breezey, but sit sort of behind our defence, as we were 2nd half. Then I saw it on MOTD2 last night, but each time they replayed, I was too focussed on Taylor's positioning as well!! I'll study the highlights on player....
I like Caulker a lot , bless him for being with us , but he does get " Jogging " around without thought sometimes
the players are not perfect and they would not be human if they never made mistakes.......its the end result that matters and lady luck was on our side for once.......
penalty ding ding....that was one bit of luck that the press said......you need a bit of luck sometimes......it was never a penalty in a million years and we were lucky that the ref made a instant decision that went in our favor.......that bit of luck kangaroo....
there are often ifs-and-buts in any result - but Swans were good enough to have the best of possession, and score 3. Well done! We just have to do better..... no complaints.
Berkamp cheers mate, for that honest post, I think Dai is correct that we had a bit of luck with that call on Dyer in the box, but at the end of the day, we've had them given against us too, still great game from two great footballing teams, just like to wish all Gunners the very best for the rest of the season! And Scotty another great thread once again from you................... please log in to view this image
Can't blame the ref on the pen. It took most pundits at least 5 or 6 replays to see it was dubious to say the least. Dyer maintains he felt clipped and didn't dive - he's not known for it is he? Overall, nobody can say we were lucky though, and that detracts from an excellent performance imo. Even Wenger said we deserved the points, and that's saying something.
Sorry Swans but i've now decided i hope you get relegated.I don't want to face the trip down to Swansea every season.
Except for the result and the journey it was a ****ing good day out.We stopped in a pub called the Plough & Harrow in Llangyfelach on the way to the game and had a bloody good time
