As far as i'm concerned the North/South rivalry is just a bit of fun even though we are far superior. This is one game i've been looking forward to since Swansea got promoted.I think i's superb a Welsh team being i the Premiership as it can only be good for Welsh football.Sorry to upset you Jacks but i'd like to see Cardiff promoted aswell. This will be one of the worst journeys to a game this season given the state of North/South road links.I'll be starting off at 6-20 to begin my journey south.Part one of the journey is a 25 mile trip to Anglesey to pick up the bus.I hope we batter Swansea today but best of luck for the rest of the season
I'd like to see Cardiff in the Premiership too, competition and rivalry is always going to bring the general standard up so it'd be good for all involved. The North/South rivalry, for me, is mostly about the language thing, is it not? I'd love to be able to speak Welsh, but (and this isn't the exclusive reason, in school I wasn't fussed but I'm gutted now) if you're taught Welsh for half an hour a week as a 4th language after French and Latin it's going to be hard to pick up! At some point I'll get round to learning it, it's really weird being abroad and explaining to people what/where Wales is, but then having to admit that I don't speak the language. After that ramble, onto the game. I still think it's either going to be a really tight, edgy game which is won by one bit of magic, or if someone scores early it could go off at a frantic pace and we could see some goals. We've got to get at their defence and we could see a few surprises in the Swans selection depending on how Rodgers thinks he can get at Arsenal's weakened backline the most efficiently. Luke Moore did a good job playing "in the hole" a few weeks back, and is a big lump, so I wouldn't at all be surprised to see him feature at some point. I'm still confident of a result though. Arsenal have been finding goals hard to come by, the Swans have been growing in confidence and Arsenal are surely going to find it strange to not be able to get the ball back for prolonged periods of time? The only team I can really remember doing that to them before was Barcelona, and that doesn't mean for one second I'm comparing us to them! Here's hoping for a good game with some goals to keep everyone happy!
i dont expect a glut of goals like some arsenal fans do, i think it will be very tight game with just the odd goal in it,,,,,mind you im still worried about a certain Van p against us,
Yep - won't it be great next season (barring relegation) having the pressures of a local derby to contend with on top of the pressures of fighting for our lives in the prem. They'll screw up the playoffs anyway.
Good first half. We had 66% possession at one point. Second half will be interesting! Also Capello is there. I don't think I could even imagine Capello being at the Liberty Stadium last season lol. He's on there to watch the Swans!!!
Capello, Toshack, Henry and Wenger are in the Liberty today. Class. Wouldn't have ever thought they'd all be there at the same time, ever, in a million years. I love the Swans
C'mon you Swans!! Brilliant victory and display today lads. You do credit to the premiership and I hope you become a fixture in the league. All the best for the rest of the season!
Brilliant performance well done Swansea ... I only hope Arsene Wenger gives your team the credit they deserve. You outplayed Arsenal. Simple as I'm sure every neutral will say likewise.
Well played and congrats on the win, it was thoroughlydeserved. No real excuses from this Arsenal fan, you just played better and showed more quality. Henry must have thought he was playing for the wrong team....
