I know. I don't see a problem myself. Quite liked him as a player actually, so I suppose that helps. But I don't give a monkey's what he has said a few years back. It was only gamesmanship.
I didn't like Poyet's side at Brighton, but I don't mind Sunderland right now. In fact, I think he's doing a very good job. He also likes to encourage attractive attacking football, in a not too dissimilar way to our own club's principles. Football is one big pantomime and I find it hard to muster any real animosity towards him. I like a good old laugh at his Dagenham comment, in the same way Seagulls fans laugh at Adkins and his "keep up" comment.
Trouble does seem to follow Poyet around. The El Abd incident that got Lambert sent off, plus the ****load of red cards Sunderland have got this season.
I think he's ok, think he'll do well at Sunderland. I might have been away in the week where he mortally offended us. Never mind. Also think we will win tomorrow. Sunderland 0-2 Dag & Red
It is more than what he said; I hate the 'professionalism' he drills into his players. Sunderland are becoming how Brighton were; niggle and dirty.
According to The Guardian's correspondent on north-east football, the Sunderland team for tomorrow is as follows... Ustari; Celustka, Cuellar, Vergini, Dossena; Mavrias, Larsson, Gardner, Cattermole, Giaccherini; Scocco.
Very talented side when you look at them all as individuals, but they'll be pretty unfamiliar with each other I reckon.
No Johnson. Would be very pleased if that was the case. But we'd probably allow Giaccherini a free header 6 yards out again.
Lallana on BT Sport saying that he and the others consider this to be our biggest game of the season.
We are undoubtedly putting a very experimental side out tomorrow, but I guarantee that every one of them will be trying to push for a place in the first team in time for Wembley..
Indeed certainly some talent in there, but frankly it would be fairly embarrassing if we play our strongest team and were unable to comfortably beat that side.
