He wasn't awful. Apart from the goal, which was unstoppable, he only had one other tough shot to save, and he saved it. Other than that, his handling was good and he looked confident on crosses etc. Ok, so he kicked the ball into touch, what 3 times? Personally, I'd rather have that than mucking about and giving away a silly goal.

The goalkeepers are told to put it down the flanks if there is no easy pass and he over hit by a couple of feet.

How you can turn that into him being awful is somewhat bizarre.
