Schneiderlin is our best and most complete midfielder. He should be the standard to which Cork and Wanyama are compared, as opposed to each other.
I have been reading elsewhere, that Jos was the only player to go over and acknowledge the 800 or so of our fans that had made the effort to go to the game, but sadly, he was victim of some nasty abuse from a minority who took it out on him, this was not a day our Club will be proud of, and there is a lot to be put right, by Poch, the players, and some of the supporters, otherwise this Season is going to go downhill, big time. We all have to man up and accept, that as far as the FA Cup is concerned, it is over for this Season, frankly because many didn't want it enough, and I don't just mean the Team itself. We have to move on and look to the future, consolidating on/or improving our League position and this will start from the the bottom (us) and work up through to the top, who also need to look at themselves and ask questions about what they really want. I personally feel let down, however, it will only take a couple of decents results to restore my faith.
The team were obviously disappointed, but they should have acknowledged the fans...they can't just do that when we win. Well done, Jos.
Personally I always think it is a bit odd for players to applaud the fans after a defeat. Difficult for them to do right there. Either way I'm sure that like me they have the utmost respect for the fans that made the trip. They were brilliant. As for the rest of us.... .... Getting a a ticket for the fifth round tie in 76 was like winning the lottery by comparison. I love cup games. I love the idea of going back to wembley again. But the cup is not what it was. Managers disrespect it by resting players. Fans disrespect it by staying at home. Maybe we got what we deserved. But in the bigger picture we are still having an amazing season and we all need to put the poor performance behind us and focus on next week. The over reaction from fans who couldn't even be bothered to actually to go to the game is a tad hypocritical maybe. And I include myself in that.
Looking at other Forums, the display of bad sportsmanship and lack of respect is very apparent. We have been spoilt by a bit of success and although, we all by nature, want more, some need to take a step back and look at themselves and at what they are saying and doing because some of it is well out of order IMO.
I can't understand some of you guys. It's not like yesterday was a semi final and if we won it we would have been in the final. Some of you are acting as if we only had to beat Sunderland then the other teams we would face would roll over. Not saying some of you don't have a right to be annoyed by how we played. But come on making out the final was a sure thing is crazy.
Absolutely, only one Team can win it and that will be the Team that wants it the most, providing they are good enough. Yesterday we neither wanted it enough, or were good enough, that's football, time to move on.
Yeah I've noticed that too. Obviously the performance has cost us a *chance* to get to the final, and was a pathetic turnout whatever way you look at it, but realistically it probably hasn't cost us a trophy.
On the other hand, it's not as though Sunderland played their strongest team either. Only 15,000 of their fans could be arsed to turn up for a game they probably didn't expect to win after all.
Just unbelievable all the reactions i am reading on here and on other forums. Always thought the team of the saints was made by about 25 players who all will be needed some time. Of course one player plays well sometimes and is playing bad on other times. But to speak of a very weakened team yesterday with playing wanayama (just look at the forums about that man and how enthousiastic everybody was about his play .....much better as cork was...... And now he is a bad/ second choice player??) and JWP (can do the same as with wanayama) And Yoshida (was reading all kicnds of good things about him the past weeks.....). So reminding these things according to a lot of you the weakness must be only due to Hooiveld and Kelvin. Well, must say that Hooiveld played a rather good game yesterday. Only saw one pass of him that was not good. Don't know why people on here have an eye on him. It seams impossible for him to do any good at the saints. Even when he is applauding the saints fans there seem to be people who are booing him and telling him to f@@@@ off! Well that is some kind of respect......just unbeleavable. Looking at the game yesterday: some of our basic players had a very bad day. I think Davis had a very bad game, just as Rickie had. Didn't think SHaw had a good game (at least his crosses and placing ball in the box was not good. Wanayama had not his best game eather....... Think we lost the game at midfield this time and i was waiting for replacement in the break. Came after 60 minutes but did not really help. And when people are missing chances as we have be doing yesterday (yes, our hero Rickie ans super hero Adam both should have scored). Seems all no problem, the problem is playing Hooiveld...........some even tell on here that playing Hooiveld makes the other players playing bad......unbeleavable and disrespectfull. Nobody in the team deserves that treatment, certainly not Hooiveld.
If we'd played full strength yesterday and picked up a couple of jinjuries then lost next week at Westt Ham we'd all have been monaing that the squad isnt big enough.
For me, it wasn't so much the team, but the amount of changes made & the players attitude. It causes disruption to the side, and it was a head down type of attitude, it wasn't right.
I am still annoyed about yesterday. It annoys me that I am still annoyed, sometimes its better to not care than care.
Bad days happen to us all and we all make mistakes. MP and the plyers need to learn from it and smash Wst Ham.
MP knew what he was doing, which makes it more than a mistake. Beating West Ham won't make me feel any different about throwing away the opportunity to win something
