Probably just fans with perhaps more passion than you, who perhaps care more than you do?

Don't take it personally, you were probably just the right supporter for today's passionless & inept performance.

I'm astonished you can dismiss such a meek capitulation as if it's just a bad break. Even if that really is how you feel show some respect for the rest of us who want to see our support rewarded by more than a token effort from the team. I don't see anyone overreacting here, that was nothing less than a disgrace.

you were in a win ,win situation today ,i cannot see any sense in not putting your strongest side possible today ,given prior knowledge that sunderland were going to field the side they did ,your status in the prem is assured and like us wembley dont come along too often ,as for your manager, well i think he has undone a lot of hard work with his attitude and failure to give interviews today ,a once great competition sadly not given credit by a foriegn manager imo, what was he saving his players for ?

I can't understand why we value the league over trying to win the Cup. Surely it is financially better to progress to the latter stages in the cup than it is to gain an extra place in the league. I don't think we will realistically get much higher and can't see us dropping lower than 9th, so it can't be for money reasons. If it was player fatigue, then we should have rested them against Hull.

    All a bit disappointing really.

He's saving our players for the thrilling battle for 8th place. It's edge of the seat stuff, it really.... isn't.

You have it spot on. Even the half-brained football pundits around are all making a dig at Saints about it and for once, I have to agree. When Robbie Savage is correct, you know we've ****ed up badly.

He's not just decided not to do an interview today, that's been the policy in all the games in all the cups. BT Sport just seem to have only just started noticing that was happening. That side of it is irrelevant, the selection is less understandable.

I doubt we would have been too upset if you had won...we did not want a replay. We have to stave off relegation and try to beat Chitty at Wembley.

So I was surprised you were not up for this game, you are all but safe in the league and only have the cup to play for?

I need us to take this form into league games. Also well done for your fans that turned up, better than us, although your team let you down. Here's hoping we play you next year

but this is the fa cup we want managers to talk about the game the cup and every thing about the ties before hand dont we ,or has the cup lost its romance ,perhaps its due to my age remembering teams fighting tooth and nail to get to the twin towers in a final ,win or lose a part of football history

It was just a terrible effort today, I don't think you can blame any one player. It's not just the fact that we used some subs, either. The regular first-teamers we played were awful, if anything more disappointing than the likes of Guly/Yoshida who we know just aren't that good but at least played somewhat up to expectations.

IMO, it really wouldn't have mattered whether we played Cork or Wanyama or really anyone else. At present, the best MC we have is Schneiderlin and the worst is JWP. And the worst striker at present is Guly and the best striker is Rodriguez. MP made both those switches early second half and it didn't make a single bit of difference.

Times have changed. When that used to happen there were three (later four) channels, very little sport on TV and no internet to distract people. Plus, apart from the world cup there was NO other live TV football. It's no wonder it's gone down in importance. I speak, by the way, as someone who used to love all that as a kid.

A few hours later and I'm still pissed off with today, especially after just looking at the remaining teams in the competition.

Tobe fair I thought Sunderland played pretty well considering they were mainly fringe players. Overpaid fringe players but still fringe players. They dictated the game from start to finish and deserved the win. You can criticise the team selection as much as you like but that team should have won. They just switched off from the pressing game and effectively rolled over. Lallana tried to rally them.

I quite like Guly and he did not gave a bad game ( no worse than others anyway) but Rodriguez should have replaced him at half time as cork should have for Wanyama. I would also have replaced Clyne with chambers but to be fair Clyne was our biggest threat late on.

    Poor day. Just really poor.

Nope season ticket holder, been away 4 times this season. For a combative midfielder he manages to let people get between him and the ball too often and he needs Morgan with him to mop up. Also when doing anything other than a 5yd simple pass he gets in trouble, can't play the 1 touch passes to get himself out of trouble like the rest of the boys. He just seems off the pace, probably shocked that he doesn't have forever on the ball and the team isn't miles better than everyone else like he was used to with Celtic. Don't dislike him as a player, but he needs to improve. He needs everyone else on top to enable him to play well. Like today he should have bossed that midfield battle but barely even noticed him

Wasn't just Wanyama that didn't play well today.

Quite annoyed about the fact that the FA cup doesn't seem to mean much anymore. Almost every year there is a thread about it at some point. I see no other reason than money. Real shame as this year you'd think a perfect opportunity for us to do well considering the comfort in the league. I doubt Poch will explain. Maybe that one or two league positions is worth more to the club? Surely he should understand what it would mean to this club.....bit baffling really.
