Anyone worried the game will be called off? The South Coast is due for a battering tomorrow afternoon, with that spreading to the north.

Well it makes no sense to loan out the player who is/may keep him out the team.

Weather here has been really soft and gentle while the rest of the country has suffered. Wed night was bad but the game should go on, like Tuesday at Hull.

We really haven't had it too bad in Southampton. Can't say there have been any reports of proper flooding. The winds have been a bit gusty and the rain is the rain. The worst bit of weather was last Saturday against Stoke, when the sky fell in for about 10 minutes. :)

BTW, I've got to ask, why the avatar of the hanger/factory in East Cowes..?

    Quite right..! ;)

Mind you, there's that old question - is a team singular or a collection..?

Well here's another potential banana skin. I'm not wading back through the thread to check, but instead I'm just going to report that Lawro has predicted us to win 2-0 and his guest 2012 Olympic Judo Silver medalist Gemma Gibbons has predicted 2-1 to us, as well.

    Where are you, Beefy..?

Team is singular, however many players are included, for example; The Saints team is wonderful, whilst the Saints players are wonderful. However, sometimes it can just sound wrong.

I know, I do get confused occasionally when I'm rattling off a post then reading it back. Something looks odd and I can't put my finger on it.

    There's a lot hanging on Saturday's result. :)

Lived in Cowes until I was 18. My dad worked there building hovercraft and other flying machines.

So did you go to Cowes High, or Carisbrooke, or Medina? I lived in East Cowes, but went to Sandown (it was a grammar school then, but changed to a comprehensive whilst I was there).
Just to get things back on topic, I'll be leaving on a coach at 05:30, to get up to Wearside and cheer The Saints onto a semifinal place. COYR!

Old Stocktonsaint, did you go to the Rochdale away game midweek in league 1? The one we lost 2-0? I'm sure I was talking to you outside the chippy before the game.

Love this. As a young lad, I could not understand why people would say "Southampton is a good team" as I always thought it should be "are"... I'm older now, but none the wiser.
