Thank goodness we lost to a wonder goal.......I don't think Hoover/Guly/Vic/ect could have recovered their career here with an OG today! <laugh>

Clyne did his best second half. Put two great balls in, but Lallana and Rickie missed great chances. Especially Rickie, deary me.

Pochettino has to take a lot of the blame for that but the team selected was good enough to get a result and they looked half asleep until the last ten minutes. I'd be furious with them if I were the manager.

Fair enough. Wouldn't argue with that.

To be fair that team should have been able to win, just lacked a lot of desire

We were dire but still had the chances to win it. Draw a line and lets push on in the PL.

See, Black? This is exactly the kind of post that makes people like me feel the need to defend Wanyama more than is perhaps necessary. Claiming Wanyama's been so dreadful as to be inches away from having his Southampton career written off is so far from the truth it's ridiculous.

Is it weird I am not disappointed? For the past how many years both Cups have been a joke. Only a few teams take it seriously the rest don't give a ****. Now I just view the Cups as just another game. Yeah it would be nice to get to Wembley but the Cups these days are just meh.

It makes you wonder if maybe the players somehow lack the enthusiasm for the cup in the same way the fans do in the earlier fixtures? It would be a pity if that were so.

From perez's interview we were worried by their aggressiveness.

No wonder as they injured 2 of our players last game.

Poor, poor performance, clearly Sunderland reserves wanted it more than us. Though Poch looked fairly disinterested the whole game, not sure what Rickie was doing either. 2 weak shots on target as I remember.
    Not impressed.

Ask a Wigan fan if the cup is pointless.
