I'm fairly confident in saying that's probably not true.

If true then that is ridiculously amazing, but surely not?

On tonight's evidence, from a fairly jerky stream:

SKD: Definitely way behind Artur now
Chambers: Did well, a real prospect but unfortunately is behind the best right back in the league
    Yoshida: OK, cover for Fonte/Lovren
Hooiveld: Shame, I wanted him to do well but too slow, although did assist our goal
Fox: Did nothing awful but way behind Shaw
Cork: Doesn't seem as solid as Wanyama, although he would be more effective alongside Morgan
Davis: A battler but not creative enough
Reed: Another good prospect, did well
Rodriguez: Didn't get much service but ran his heart out
Lee: Hardly did anything of note
Ramirez: This was his chance and he blew it

    Subs
    JWP: Different class
    Adam: Ditto
    Gallagher: Not enough time

Gaston was again very poor, but he wasn't the only one. This isn't sour grapes, but Lee Mason was ****ing dreadful tonight. I'm not just talking about the penalty shouts but more of the fact he gave Sunderland every 50/50 decision, and gave some pathetic free kicks. He is just a awful ref.

Pretty fair assessment, although I was surprised we took Davis off when we did. Perhaps he was still recovering from his recent knock, but Ramirez was doing naff all.

Do quite a few away games, thank god not this one. Would be well pissed off going all the way up there, absolutely no desire to get to QF with that team selection. Virtually same team that made hard work to overcome league one strugglers Bristol City, never going to be good enough to overcome PL strugglers Sunderland. Totally toothless top end of pitch, Rodrigues CANNOT play that lone striker role at this level and never will. He's not got the strength. technique or presence to hold the ball up, more effective when attacking from deeper where he can use his asset of pace running at defenders. Tadanari Lee...that was probably his farewell Saints appearance.

I'll agree with that. Should really be a Championship-L2 cup, problem is that the Football League run it and I'm guessing they make a fair chunk of cash out of the Prem teams, so can't see it going quietly away.

Anyway decent run out for some of our young players tonight, didn't watch the whole 90 minutes. Yes we might have won the cup, but more likely is that we would have lost to Chelsea. That's just me though, if you want to be disappointed that's ok.

Our season is over now. Sell everything in January and start the rebuild.

Reed did very well, playing the Davis/JWP role quite effectively. Didn't really do much wrong apart from a couple of misplaced passes. Moved the ball along to what in a Prem game would be the more creative players but without Rickie and Adam there nothing came to much.

Gallagher was only on for a couple minutes and nearly got a penalty but just didn't have enough time.

You could well be right. If one club had the strength of character to give it up they all would.

I HATE this competition because I feel compelled to go to the home games despite knowing I'm going to pay see Saints reserves in a game whose result means nothing. I'd have annoyed myself by going to the game against Chelsea had we won tonight. I'm not so fond of the FA Cup any more either. The cups used to mean something but times have changed.

Clearly the club agrees with the sentiment (judging by our half-hearted efforts to progress) but doesn't appear to want the opprobrium we would attract by being the first to drop out.

Reed did very well and on this performance would rather have him promoted to the first team bench than Gaston. Good on the ball, good control and quick passer. Rather JWPish. Solid prospect
Gallagher didn't really show much in the ten minutes he was on the pitch but can't be worse than Lee!

    FFS, not another one?

We've got too many young academy players in our squad, we need to offload them asap, and replace them with premier league experience.

So why not have the bollocks to admit it when you've been called out?

You acted the ****ing innocent with us, which is understandable, but also did the same with the decent Saints supporters which is just **** behaviour.

If you were wumming, as you now admit, why be a squirming coward and deny it?

People like you are the absolute scum of these boards.
