You can tell these comments have all kinda annoyed us, but we must remember, we have a chairman who is more than suited to dealing with these situations. I'll put it down to poor advice this time Alex, put seriously, show a little respect.
It will be very interesting to see if he plays on saturday, and if he does what sort of reception he gets.
He's been daft, but I want him to go out & play footy in front of a large happy crowd. Then, that night he can ponder life on double the wage but missing the buzz.
Just a quick question, has anyone seen Adkins on SSN today, the news now website has just added a couple of pages from Adkins commenting on Chamberlains interview stating he would love for him to stay. Obviously we all want him to stay but just wondered if anyone actually saw it on SSN as I can't see it and whether he just said that or anything more??
Sorry if this has already been posted on here, but I'm only just catching up with Twitter tonight: Tony Husband has tweeted: "#Saintsfc asked on air if Chambo would go. Said he prob would now"
"The fine is unlikely to act as an incentive to get Chamberlain to change his mind and the problem now for the club, and manager Nigel Adkins, is how to deal with the situation." - Whatever useless journalist wrote this used the exact same sentence twice in that article.
Adkins still showing love for Chamberlain after his infamous interview. The thing that struck me after reading the AOC interview is the fear and almost desperation about it. Here is a kid with a lot of potential and ability and he's scared that this time next year he might be forgotten about. He says "I don't need the championship, i'm ready for the premier league now" but It sounds almost like he is saying I might get found out in the championship, so buy me and I'll hide in your reserves because I don't think I can handle a full season in the competitive world of English footballs second tier. The trouble for Chamberlain is that I expect none of the premier league teams are prepared to spend the amount Saints want on a player with only handful of league one games.....How much did Bayern pay for Dale Jennings for example, certainly no where near £10 million. Saints hold the cards and he may not like it, but AOC is best off knuckingly down with Saints and who knows, he might just like it
It gets worse. Apparently he was fined 2 weeks' wages... and the Daily Fail says he's "furious" about it. But then they would say that, wouldn't they? But how can Oxo justify being "furious" when he went along with 2 organised interviews with the national press, completely against the club's very strict press policy? Somebody is really rattling NC's cage with all these leaks... Oxo's dad might just end up with egg on his face if this goes much further. Another club is going to look at the pair of them and think they spell TROUBLE.
We must remember it's only being reported that he's furious about the fine. No one would like to lose wages, but anyone with any humility would know he shouldn't have gone public. If he is furious, he's already got above himself.
So if AOC is furious about being fined like the Daily Fail say then he shouldn't give unauthorised interviews end of!!"! If he wants to go then hand in a transfer request, don't do it via the bullshit press! However much of a talent AOC is which we all know he is, once a player thinks they are bigger than the club they can go in my opinion! He is getting to big for his boots!! If he wants to be a bench warmer then let him! Good Luck to the lad! If some mug of a team wants to pay us 12million cash for him, then lets just take the money! Within the last few years we have produced talent like Lallana, Bale, Walcott, AOC. There will be more & we know it! After reading alot on the Arsenal boards the impression is they don't actually want him!
Suspect Chamberlain and advisors were stirring the pot. Hoping someone would be tempted to put in an offer, which Saints would accept because NC was pissed off. Yes, Nicola will let you have what you want if you annoy him enough After all it's not like he sacked a manager after a big win, sent a player to rot in the stiffs, banned a so-called fans representative, or refused to speak to the local paper. No..you're on a winner there, Alex.
Ok Guys.....here is another point to ponder. Cast your mind back when there was all sorts of rumours regarding Puncheon and Chamberlain. About the rows and (shall we say differences of opinion) they had on the training ground. It was said that he called the lad at the time a trumped up nobody. Then, was upset at being left out of a line up in a match because of the row. We all know it was rumour......the question I would now like to ask is, was Puncheon actually right?
Chamberlain can just buggar off, his ego is now too big for the club after the interview - in fact I hope his career stalls for a while, serve him right IMO
