Close fought game by all accounts.

Spurs U21s finished top of the Elite Group and we will now play the winners of Tier 1 (Everton) & Tier 2 (Newcastle United) in the Semi-Final.

The other Semi-Final will probably be between Liverpool & Manchester United, although the Saints still have an outside chance of snatching third place.

Spurs stalwart Graham Roberts went to my school and lived just a couple of streets away from me. His younger sister was even tougher than him and played Rugby for Southampton ladies...<yikes>

Anyone got any injury news? We are very weak on the left side if Luke isn't fit to return. Having nightmares about Bale and Lennon!

Bale is a fantastic player, but.... Was going to add something hopeful and uplifting, but that was as far as I got:(

Well on the plus side, after his refusal to add much width last weekend when he was supposed to be on the wing(I think) and with Lennon returning, it's unlikey Bale will play on the wing this weekend. I wish AVB would play Bale and Lennon on the wings though like we had last year under 'Arry, we ran riot at times against teams.

The side I'd like to see is: Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto; Huddlestone, Holtby, Dembele(if fit); Lennon, Defoe, Bale.

I think it's more likely we'll see: Lloris; Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Naughton; Parker, Huddlestone/Dembele; Lennon, Bale, Dempsey; Defoe.

Anyway, we really need all 3 points so if you wouldn't mind letting us win <whistle> I picked this fixture out awhile ago as a particularly tough one and that was before we dropped points in our so called easier games, now each of our 4 games looks tough. I certainly can't see us running away with a win here, for starters we never seem to run away with a win, in the league this season we've only won one game by 3 goals and 13 of our 18 wins have been by a single goal margin, which is really quite bad by our recent standards.

Well Saints will not make it easy for Spurs after the pasting we took last week. If Spurs don't score early I reckon we could nick it 1-0.

I'm praying that you do play Bale through the centre, Schneiderlin and Cork are far more equipped to break up his play than whoever we play at pretend RB after we have to have a merry-go-round in defense!
