We're winning it. Sunderland is horrible. If we don't win we have a bunch of wussy-ass players looking for excuses and I will be disappointed in both them and Pochettino.

Sunderland got to be favourites for this. We couldn't even beat them at home in either season at our supposed peak.
But be great if there turns out to be a 'new CEO' factor. Don't have a clue on this one, to be honest.

I accept Sunderland could win, but I refuse to accept that they are favourites. Our lads will be up for it as usual.

I do hope so, although Sunderland are better than their league position if you chop PDC's games off the start, we've practically got everyone fit now. The Cortese uncertainty could have distracted minds but I don't really think it will matter much, it was all over in a day. So there's no reason we can't bring out the performance we had v West Brom (with some goals to go with it, this time).

In terms of "favourites", implied chances based on Betfair odds are:

    31% Sunderland win
    40% Saints win
    29% Draw

So we are favourites to win and major favourites not to come away with a loss.

Eleven teams looking behind themselves and at the drop. It is going to be an interesting second half. A small gap ahead of us but we have some good fixtures coming so hopefully we can move back up assuming no more injuries or any sales.

Newcastle could easily drop points away at Wet Spam, so a win could put us above them that would be good for everyone's morale.

We're favourites, on Betfair anyway. We're about 6/4, Sunderland are 2/1 ish. Value probably lies with the draw at around 9/4.

A convincing win would presumably go some way toward lifting the mood on the South Coast, but I wouldn't be tempted at current odds.

    Hello lads

Think it could be a tough game myself! Like the way your team plays and have various threats in your team coming from Lambert/Lallana/Ramirez etc

Fortunately our form has improved significantly and I think it's fair to say in the League after Everton your one of the tougher opponents

General feeling of a tight win up here with most thinking 2-1, nice to see some have been watching our play as well, agree if Poyet had been here from the start things would of been completely different

Either way shall be a good game! Look forward to it!

I just can't bear the thought of watching Poyet's smug grin on the television if you beat us. Nothing against Sunderland, but I just don't like him.

Well nice to see you are all being realistic. Too often you go onto other teams boards and you see them saying things like this will be a walk over 5-0 or even more. But you all seem to think the same as we do that it will be tight with one goal either way.

Obviously I think it will be in our favour. I will go for 1-0 This is on the basis of Wes Brown being fully fit again abd I can se another clean sheet for us and you have been hard to break down for most of the season so we are not goingto score many either. Having said that it should be a good game to watch as both sides are playing nice football.

For the record our record since Swansea (GP's first game where we got hammered) in all comps is P17 W8 D4 L5, so we are in a false position in the league. For a team who have been in the bottom three all season the confidence amongst the fans that we will stay up is remarkable, this is based on how we have played not just the results, so you should be looking at this as a game against a team in the top half of the table just about on par with where you are.

All sets it up for a good game, just a pity that it is a 12.45 kick off makes it hard for your fans to get here on time. How many are you bringing?
