Matty has just been on Sky praising the team and saying how good Rodriguez has become. Also said that his price tag was a burden, but now he looks a bargain. Tiss sees a possibility of a top ten finish for us. Also talking about being in squad for Guernsey FC this weekend...thinks he might be a fourteen rather than a seven.
Reading striker Adam Le Fondre believes Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez should have been sent off for his challenge on goalkeeper Adam Federici in scoring on Saturday. Instead Rodriguez's goal stood as the Saints won 2-0. Full story: Daily Mail What a bad loser
All the experts agree that it was a question of determination and the goal should stand, but, tbf to Le Fondre, Saints fans would have thought the same way if it happened against us...the same for the goal that wasn't.
I wonder what that Arniepieinthesky fella who used to go on the original 606 board makes of all this?
Sorry Fran, I might have been aggrieved if it had happened to us, simply by being one goal down, but that's all. I would have accepted that it was a perfectly good goal.
Agreed!!! All of the contentious 50-50 decisions went in our favour and all appeared to be the right decisions in the end anyway. However, with a different ref we could have had them ruled against us and the game would have had a completely different conclusion. I do completely disagree with Le Fondre anyway, and where what was his view like?
More praise for Rodriguez in grown up newspapers. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...as-Southampton-inflict-misery-on-Reading.html http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/apr/08/premier-league-talking-points?
In the first one read the 8) Alan Pardew is almost worth the ticket price alone part. Can't stand Pardew but sounds excellent. Will have to fid if it's an exagerration or truth. Video link anyone?
blue and white hoops going down? Has someone managed to save the rest of us by making the same team go down twice?
