We see it different, very different. He wasn't crap today, he was indifferent. He showed some touches of brilliance and some poor touches and decisions. If you think he has been crap all season then I do worry. He has not been as good since mid January, but he was excellent against Arsenal, our best player in a poor game v Sunderland, brilliant against Newcastle and awesome against villa. They are just a few games I can recall.
Brilliant win today, not lucky just very comftable, nice to be in the top half. We're on the first page of ceefax, we`re of the first page on ceefax" anyone else remember that chant
Ramirez wasn't great today. Typical Ramirez game where he shows flashes of brilliance and coupled with bad giveaways. Not making a convincing case to start over Davis nor justifying his salary at this point. He was a bit anonymous today, that's all. Hardly worth some of the vitriol being posted. Reading were crap, we dominated the match, how bad could anyone have been? Three wins in a row. Everything is going great... yet some of you MUST find a player to pick on. Sad really.
Really good win away from home. Thought we put in a very steady and controlled performance with some periods of fantastic passing play. You could see how hard the players were working all over the pitch and it's nice to see that rewarded with the 3 points. Rodriguez looks so confident now and is really making things happen with his incisive runs towards goal. Lambert was making some fantastic passes. All over the pitch we generally looked in control...and I'm sure Boruc was just having a bit of fun with his juggling skills...! Well done Saints and on to the next one.
Depressing to come on here after a huge win which could all but seal a place in the Premier League next season to see fans at the throats of players and other fans.
So, are you seriously suggesting that he played well? I can see when he passes the ball and I can see when he loses possession. To me the latter outweighed the former today. Next week it might be different and I'd be happy to come on here and say so. Anyway, as Lambert Walk says, lets just praise the win and look upwards.
I don't think he played badly today, and I think in time he will be a cracking player for us. I do think the team looked more balanced when Adam came in, but that was a tactical subtlety rather than Ramirez doing anything wrong. He needs a little more leeway in terms of criticism as he's coming into a new league/language/culture and is only 22. Remember please that it took a good amount of time for the likes of Henry and to a lesser extent Bergkamp to make that adjustment.
I refer you to my and Oli's earlier posts. He said sell him; I stuck up for him. Some get on players backs.
IF Ramirez had cost less and had less hype no-one would question that he should be offloaded. Forget the hype. Forget he is definitely a great player. Premier League cannot afford to wait for players (or managers) to improve anymore. Davis > Ramirez. Lallana > Ramirez. Even Puncheon > Ramirez. Forget about top 6 finishes if we are giving out excuses about 'settling in'.
And we go above WHU for the first time this season. I'm confident that, with a little shuffling to and fro [they have two games in hand], we'll finish there too, as per my prediction way back when we were bottom of the Premier League in October. Actually, I also said we'd finish between 10th and 13th. I fear I many have been a little cautious on that note. We'll see though.
He has finally found his goal scoring form again. With him, Benteke and Wiemann. I think they will pull away from trouble.
Mauricio Pochettino: "I want to congratulate the players because they made the victory possible. I also want to thank the fans."
