He will be missed if not fit, Rodriguez is good but we will miss Lambert's aerial threat, especially where he runs to the back post. No one is as effective at that as he is.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot! I did in fact go to the bookies and stick £5 on the 2-0 scoreline, wish I had put the goalscorers on as well. Ok, I didn't get the nature of Ramirez's goal right, but you've got to let me off that one!
Had a quick glance at the Mail write up of our match (couldn't read in detail because someone kept talking to me during my tea break). They said that our volatile Chairman was angry about the start to the season and had a confrontation with NA. NA had to convince him for more time. Where do they get this stuff?
Shaw was also cramping up abit towards the end and was stretching his muscles and making funny faces, seems about 75 minutes is his barrier at the mo
As I posted on the rumour thread "An ITK earlier reported a player pulling up sharp in practice session, didn't know who it was at the time, would appear to have been Fox who was absent today, interesting Hoover coming on at left back, couldn't see that happening!"
Shaw did actually stay on until the start of injury time so that's an improvement. If he'd had to go off earlier I guess Yoshida would have gone to left back. It shows how confident Nigel is with Shaw that he only had one defender on the bench.
White British youngsters carry on growing later than other races...could be the problem with Shaw. He may not be at his final height yet...this can cause problems with leg pains. For example, Laura Robson grew several inches in one year which threw her serve off for a while...now got used to it.
