Jason McCarthy, 17yr old centre back Today was the best display of the season, and bar that bloody woodwork and THE WORST refeering display I have ever seen we should have won by more
Luke Shaw on Twitter: "Yes come onnnn!!!! Another great win and an a massive 3 points for us ! #COYR #saintsfc"
Nathaniel Clyne on Twitter: Clean sheet at last. Great performance and another 3 points #COYR #Saints
Lallana paid a real compliment to Ramirez on Player. Said he was a pleasure to train and play with and they were all learning from him. Some player. Also Adam on 49 goals for Saints.
That's it then. No one comment before RGM. Let Tom make the thread, then RGM must comment first with "We'll win". Sorted.
Best performance of the season so far. How was it only 2-0? Not a single player played badly for us, and I thought we defended as a unit for once - not just the back four, but the midfield too. We played pretty football when we could, but we also weren't afraid of just sticking the ball into the stand when we were under pressure. That pleased me. I'd like to see the two Ramirez penalty appeals again, as I was sitting down the opposite end. The first looked like Ramirez was very much waiting for the challenge and preparing himself to go over, but ultimately I thought it was a still a foul. The second just looked like a nailed on penalty.
He went down quite easily on the second one as well, but as Gary Neville recently pointed out, that's not always an attempt to deceive the ref. Players often go down to avoid getting hurt. There was enough contact for a penalty that time, I reckon.
The first looked like it probably was a dive. The second one... I think he fell over. EDIT - best bit about the second one was that while he was appealing a Newcastle player passed the ball into his lap!
Though of course pleased with his signing I've been so chuffed with Ramirez's attitude. He really seems up for it, not a prima donna. I was also happy that Lambert and Pardew exchanged a friendly greeting and handshake when Lambo was briefly off the pitch after being clattered. Pardew's Sky interview was also complimentary. We're a nice club
