Brilliant first half, well played Saints... too much to ask for a matching 2nd half?

Great so far. Now comes the most nervy part of the Southampton game: the opening minutes of the second half. Adkins needs to make sure the defenders are concentrating.

    Easy easy easy

Not one shot on target for Newcastle

Looking very good. More of the same second half boys.

Three of the four Newcastle defenders should be on yellows, ah well.

We're playing really well, but we should be 2 or 3 up really, we have to make sure we come out of the half and keep control of the game and then put another in to keep it a bit comfortable going into the last 20/30. Can't afford a lapse like in the QPR game.

I've moaned at points that we haven't been quick enough moving into the final third, and it has allowed defenses to settle, making chances difficult to come by. Not so today...quick, crisp passing and some real intent. Fantastic half; we really should be ahead at least 2-0.

One of the most violent cities in the world. London is much nicer, despite the weather.

Good stuff so far, looked really dangerous in that last 10 minutes, unlucky not to score more. Ramirez is playing brilliantly, great awareness to give Lallana a tap-in. More of the same in the second half please!

I thought that would get a reaction..! ;)

As it happens, I worked in Kingston-on-Thames [which I assume is your Kingston] for 6 months back in 1990. Not the worst place in the World.

Although the Police have revoked the license for the Oceana in Kingston because a 20 year old black person was murdered a few weeks ago. I was in there the previous night!!

Some Newcastle fans are calling for Pardew's head! FFS he's got half his team out. Oh, and Newcastle haven't won when they've fallen behind away from home.

Giving him that ridiculous contract was always going to result in a drop of form wasn't it? Sod's law at its finest.

Yep. There's no way Ashley will sack him. He won't be able to afford it for at least 4 years!
