So perhaps a few months ago before our poor run of form they didn't plan on buying anyone but now the injuries have shown our worrying lack of strength in depth Cortese might change his mind and spend some money? *fingers crossed* #wishfulthinking
Clyne and JWP both have knocks apparently. Isgrove has had one day training since returning from a fairly long lay off so I would be very surprised to see him featuring tomorrow. Given their Burnley background, I think it is is a fair bet to say Fox Cork and Rodriguez will all want to play but not sure it's a good idea having Jos and Fox in the same line up. So I would go with Gazza Chambers Lovren Yoshida Fox Cork Reed Davis Gaston Rodriguez Osvaldo subs: Davis, Shaw, Lallana, Lambert, Turnbull, Gallagher, Schneiderlin
The number of injuries Saints suffered, particularly to defensive players, really has exposed our strength in depth. We really could do with a quality cb being brought in. Astori would do for me. Kelvin has played well since his recovery, and Artur should be back soon, so I don't think we need to add a keeper.
... and of course we get complaints from people who turn up late expecting to walk straight in, then complain that the ticket office isn't fit for purpose because they miss the start of game, it ain't rocket science, common sense should prevail..
The forecast hasn't changed, rain in the morning, dry during the game, and even the wind is going to drop somewhat, should be perfect conditions for a fine game. I can predict the weather better than the scoreline, not going there.
Of course, it's not a good idea having Hooiveld and Fox in the same line up, but the others need a rest, and they should hopefully be OK tomorrow. I know Jay will really want to play, but he has played so much football lately. He needs a rest.
More of our Jay...
On the other hand, he is being interviewed a lot. And Rickie is being quoted as saying he wants to play.
Just showed a photo of 8-yr-old JRod on South Today...give him a shave and he looks exactly the same now. Bless!
That video reminds me that Richardson was a great player at Championship level but look at the amount of space we had! Never see that in the Premier League.
PL looks a completely different game. Amazing how much the defence sits back. Or is it just we were so far ahead of the pack in the NPC compared to our PL standing?
Indeed. There's was one similarity though. Lambert was playing behind the front pairing on occasion. He alternated with Lallana or someone else [not Sharp], and occasionally did his now customary dink into the danger area. Also, Richardson was one mean crosser of the ball. Butterfield also, though he wasn't playing that day. I notice that Fox was fairly comfortable.
